93 Rx7

I Just Purchased A 93 Rx7 With 20,600 Miles. Im The 3rd Owner. The Guy I Bought It From Was Using Syntec. I Want To Use Regular Oil Because I Heard Syntec Is Not Good For It. Is This Ok For Me To Do Now That The Last 15,000 Miles Were Syntec ? Thanks

Synthetic oils from years ago were said not to be run in a rotary ( I believe it's because of the ash content). Todays synthetics are alot better. So you would be safe to continue to use them. There are lots of guys on the forum using synthetic oils.

You can switch back to regular oil any time. Many people, myself included, consider Syntec a waste of money. See your owner's manual for the recommended grade for your outside air temperature range.

Synthetic oil (Red Line, Royal Purple, NEO, etc.) is still generally recommended for the transmission and differential.
