Wink 91 rx7 convertable...where to start

i want to make my 91 rx7 convertable faster, i wanna know where to start. i just installed a hks super flow intake. now im looking for an exhaust system that is great but also reliable this my daily driver so i cant take out my "cat" or else the cops would hassle me (and believe me they hassle me for the stupidiest thing)

buy a 89-91 turbo 2 motor from a jspec imported and have it rebuilt and street ported.

buy a EMS standalone system. Haltech, microtech, wolf etc. My suggestion is buy what ever standalone is installed and tuned at a local shop near you.

buy a t04 manifold, waste gate and turbo

buy a front mount intercooler

buy larger secondary fuel injectors something like 1680cc they are cheap

well thats it your done.

Thats what I have done to my vert

I wouldn't bother trying to mod the na engine in your vert. They can't be made fast imho. Respectable, sure...fast, not a chance.
I would swap a whole TII drivtrain in as Bukwild suggested. That is also what I have done.

The recommendations for a t-II swap are right on the money for "fast". If you don't want to do that, a Racing Beat header, high-flow cat and a good cat-back exhaust (I had a Borla) will give a noticeable improvement. Removing the stock fan and adding an electric fan is good for 9 hp, according to Jim Hagerty at Mariah Motorsports. Finally, have it street-ported. (Can cause emssions issues.) I did all that and got 205 - 210 hp on my '90 vert.

Later on, I made it even faster...

but that cost a lot more.

i love the part on your website where it says ur the father since u paid for everything lol

wish i had enough money to do that, but by the looks of it u have worked hard throughout ur life n can afford it

i think ill just stick with a 13bre swap in 3 months into my 88 vert

yeah the RE swap is my next item with the never ending vert. But I will have the RE built from the ground up with REW exhaust ports.
