900hp race

In about a year I'm going to drag against my friend who has a 900hp ls1 powered chevy s10 pickup. What do I need to beat him?

A 3 rotor, a 4 rotor, or an LS1 swap.
Or a brain.

LS1 S10 swaps aren't 4wd, they are rear.
Take it from a very, very seasoned S10 V8 swapper.
As for the rest, that's for him to answer. Still, to get that kind of horsepower with a 13B is...um...well...
Yea.

Edit: Hadn't refreshed; Didn't realize Xilver had already answered the 4wd question, sry.

VHT....That thing still ain't hooking up.....there's no weight back there. Has he ran yet? I wouldn't be surprised if he could only run a 11 sec 1/4 mile

I was kinda hoping I wouldn't need 900hp to match up with him. The fd is lighter and his car is supercharged so i was kinda hoping the turbo would do better in the higher rpms

NO WAY. People who don't know how to drive can't hook up. I have seen an LS1 V8 swapped Sonoma (same freakin' truck) get low nines with 1050 horsepower (Banks twin turbo ftw). And before you mention the fact that "Turbos aren't good for low end torque so that's why he hooked up blah blah blah" please just save your breath (no offense meant) because before the truck hits the turbo powerband it still has 600 horsepower.

After all, I have beat 800 hp Supras because they can't launch, the S-10 should be much worse. Seems like this S-10 would have to be tubbed to get off the line!

I have two questions: 1.) How long were you beating them? 2.) How much horsepower does your car have?
I don't mean this in an inflammatory way, I sincerely want to know.
Keep one thing in mind too: a lot of S10 V8 swappers raise the ride height, which would allow you to put some pretty monstrous tires on. Just a thought. This guy may or may not have done that, but, you know.

his ride height actually looks pretty low, but yeah I do want to know what setup you use to beat these supras, maybe it'll work for me

The match was pretty even.....they would almost catch me by end of 1/4 mile unless it was Ryan Woon....then he caught me by 1/8th mile...LOL

My car is only about 431hp

Keep in mind, too, that Supras with that much power don't bring it in until like, 70-80 mph. I hate the Supra powerband, because the only thing it is good for is street roll ricing, which is pretty pointless IMHO.

i wouldn't even waste my time racing him....there's always going to be someone faster then you....and you probable would pretty much turn your car into a race car....i say build a normal car and just let him win.....
