87 EFI to carburated

I was having problems with my 87 n/a, so my friends and i stripped off the fuel injection down to the bare block, now all it has is a intake manifold with a weber ida 48 carb on it, it runs a million times better with noticable hp difference, but there are minor things i need to work out.........like heater problems, when i turn the fan (heater fan)on the car loses spark, and shuts off, help me out!

He is still running the stock CAS. So the ECU is still controlling ignition. Do you think it would be better to just set up an independant ignition setup like out of a 1st gen and new MSD coils? We got the racing beat injector plugs and that IDA and manifold. at least with the carb the thing will actually idle, and its really cool that you can actually see the engine rather than a whole mess of crap under there. Much simpler but there are a couple of bugs to work out.

When I went blowthrough carb I got a dizzy from a 12at, you could just get one from an 81-85 12a or 13b. I didn't think the ecu could even control the ignition if the FI wasn't in tact. I could give a quick writeup on the wiring for the dizzy, i'm sure you wouldn't need it though.

If you simply wire a relay to the ignition switch to turn on the ignition components, you know that the heater won't cut your car out.

Ya i think thats what we need to do. I have made a few ignitons that way, just find some wire that has power when you turn the key, then wire it to a relay that will get power streight from the bat so i have full pwr, then i can setup the rest. thanks.
