There are a couple people on the board that make 450whp (give or take) and daily drive their car. I'm new here so I'm not good with names..

And spool isn't a problem if you keep it in the revs!

That's what Boost controllers are for. you can switch between several different boost levels with the push of a button.

I have, basically, a T04R BB that I had made. I run my own custom manifold with dual W/G's, 720cc/1600cc injector setup, and all the other supporting fuel mods, haltech on a street ported, 3mm seal engine. I made 422 at 16psi and 467 @19psi on this setup. The 467 had some 101 mixed with the 91 but with further work I expect to break 500 to the wheels on 91... with my water injection setup running (it's installed just not turned on yet.

In a 4th gear pull from 1000 I see 15-16psi by 3500 and ~19psi by 3900RPM. I have full 1.2bar boost in 1st gear W/G's screaming.

Honestly, at the ~430 that I drive on teh street, it's a bit scary and intimidating and i"m still learning to drive the car.

Have any other questions?

-Chris

Of course...I would, too, if i could say it.

It's a 66.7mm (inducer) GT series compressor with a GTQ turbine wheel in a .84A/R divided turbine housing and a 4"DP. Since I get TONS of people questioning my 4"DP it's for reduced backpressure, not top end power that I chose 4".

450 at 15psi will be hard pressed on a street port. I belive some have done it... with the right tunning, porting etc it can probably be done. I would think 450 At 17 is more achievable, but I won't know for sure until I try it.

Steve Kan tunned my car with a few other local Rx7 owners several months ago. If you get a group, he'll come to you.

I use the GReddy Profec B Spec II. I had the AVC-R but didnt' want/need the large size and million functions. The Spec II works great and is easily mounted.

As for the Haltech... I drive an FC so the Apexi and AEM aren't the plug n play as they would be with the FD. The Haltech was relatively cheap with good support within the community. The computer is only as good as the tunner IMO.

I must say that I'm certain there are other people making more power, less boost, better spool etc, etc. But they don't talk as much, which is fine. I am pleased with this setup especially considering the it's the first turbo system I've ever designed/put together.

I'd drive mine anywhere, although it usually sit's in the garage with the weather lately. I usually take the AE on long trips around town to save gas and miles from my Avalanche. I imagine at my low boost setting of 11psi, it'd still run a low 12(maybe high 11), and be close to as reliable as a stock. I made 408rwhp with the dyno room at 104deg's at 14-15psi. Probably closer 425rwhp in more civil conditions.

theres more to a dd than just being able to handle it on the street... most stock rx-7s spend months in the garage fixing things, and with this massive amount of hp (well over 500hp), it'll be in there forever... people say get a dd not because you can't handle it, its because it's always in the shop

I think this is a function of how it's built. You can build a reliable high HP car... it just cost $$$'s and you have to do it all correctly teh first time, or yes, you will always be fixing little bugs.
