3mm or 2mm Seals

I am really new to the rotary world, and I am attempting to build my first engine. I have ported out the housings, and actually need to replace one because i went through into the water jacket...sucks. But I purchased 3mm apex seals because i was told "that is what to run" but not knowing that you need to machine out the rotors. The engine will be used in an offroad sand rail, no more than 10lbs of bost from an T3-T4 hybrid turbo, electromotive computer, and will regularly hit high RPM's. I want relaibility more than absoulate speed and power, beacuse of going way out in the sand dunes. My main question is? Are the 3mm seals worth it?????

3mm seals are not what you want. Go with OM 2mm seals from Mazda and you will be happy.

3mm seals are not the right sollution for high rev- engine Only ceramic 3mm seals would be OK as the weight of the seals is not that critical as of metal seals.

I too, am new but have a sugestion for you. I dont know what kind of rail you're building but all the rail's i've seen are rear engine and I think that the only time your front wheels would be in the sand is when it's parked. Also all the extra equipment would just be somewhere else for sand to get into. Probably the best idea would be a 12A or slap a carb on a 13B (although very expensive). I say all this because I would love to see a rotary sand rail and have thought about building one myself. Hope this helps you. Good luck!
