13BREW with TurboII transmission?
13BREW with TurboII transmission?
I have a 1993 13BREW motor that I'm mating to a 1988 TurboII transmission. My question is can you use the TurboII pressure plate with the 13BREW flywheel and will the starter work with the 13BREW flywheel? The clutch disc is the same for the turbo motors 87-95 Turbo I'm using 6 puck solid disc. Now the 13BREW pressure plate is different than the TurboII it is a "PULL" type as opposed to the TurboII which is a "PUSH" type. Or do I have to use the TurboII flywheel to make this work? Any info will be much appreciated.

I'm not sure if the FC PP wil mate to the FD flywheel.. somehow i don't think so..
But if it doesn't.... the good news is that s5 and s6 engine internals are the same.. .SO all you have to do to make it work is use an s5TII flywheel and PP and then you will have no problems mating the starter and the tranny

in orded to fit the turbo 2 tranny to the cosmo motor you need to convert to a 255mm push type clutch/flywheel system...
get a clutch /flywheel setup for a turbo 2 motor and use the cosmo engine counterweight and you will be fine

Turbo II pressure plates bolt right up to the FD flywheel. Turbo II starter engages the FD flywheel without any problem through the Turbo II tranny.
As for the push/pull configuration of the clutch, the TII tranny only offers the push type engagement which works only with the TII pressure plate. Use your TII clutch slave cylinder and you are good to go. This is how it sits in my car currently.

But it is much harder to adapt the FD tranny to the FC chassis than it is to adapt the FC tranny to the FD motor... We don't have a PPF and there is no easy way to remedy that. I would assume that this is what he is doing, since I doubt anyone would be wanting the FC tranny in their FD.
