12a bridge questions

i'm trying to get a good idea of everything i would need to build a potent 7. i'm also looking for advice, on how to build this engine. i'm not going to go turbo with this engine, its more of a hobby, so most power for my dollar isn't my priority.

what i plan on doing is

rebuilding my 12a with carbon seals
cryo treated side and rotor housings
bridge port....maybe half bridge (i love the sound of bridge ports)
balanced rotating assembly with a lightweight flywheel and clutch
DLIDFIS with msd coils
3 window bearings
deep oil groove rotor bearings
hardened stationary gears
high flow oil pump (reccomendations?)
duel belt pullies
slower spinning or larger water pump?
update to air to oil cooler
use 2 stroke in the OMP

I have already the Racing beat race exhaust and the Holley 600 cfm.

What else should i look for as far as reliability mods for this build?
anything anybody would like to advise me on or reccomend?
I'm not shooting for a specific horsepower goal, but i'm thinking over 200 is a reasonable minimum. What kind of redline can i expect?

I'm planning on sending my housings to be cryo treated and ported professionally while i try my hand at a street port for my back up engine.

Its going to be a 1nce a week driven show car/fun car

rebuilding my 12a with carbon seals
Good to go.

cryo treated side and rotor housings
Waste of money.

bridge port....maybe half bridge (i love the sound of bridge ports)
Full bridge and if your brave enough get it cut into the waterseal area for a very large bridgeport.

balanced rotating assembly with a lightweight flywheel and clutch
Get your rotors lightened.

DLIDFIS with msd coils
Run MSD 6AL's one fpr leading one for trailing so you will have a softtouch rev controller.

3 window bearings
hardened stationary gears
Get the Racing Beat stationary gears already comes with the bearings

deep oil groove rotor bearings
Good to go.

high flow oil pump (reccomendations?)
Stock GSLSE oil pump largest volume for those year motors.

duel belt pullies
slower spinning or larger water pump?
Racing Beat pulley set.

update to air to oil cooler
Get second gen stock oil cooler.

use 2 stroke in the OMP
Block the OMP and just run premix.

how much of a difference does lightening the rotors make?

Is there a specific reason to just run premix? If i wanted to be lazy and just fill up an oil resevior every oil change, is there a real dissadvantage over premix?

Would the MSD 6AL's be worth the Money? Why would DLIDFIS not work well enough?

I'm not arguing or saying your input was wrong, i just want information so i can make informed decisions about what i need and what i might not require.

Lightened rotors help with response and is less load stress on the bearings. If I were going to lighten anything it would be the rotors.

Nothing wrong with either method both work just a choice of preference.

Again both work well but I like the 6AL's personnally because you do have the rev limiter. And especially with a bridgeport motor one mis-shift and you can do some damage. Besides that I like launching off the rev limiter. I've done both setups and the DLIDFIS does work great but stock is stock. Really can't compare a 6AL with Blaster SS coils awesome spark.

The best advice I can give you if you are building a high revving rotary like a 12A bridge port is check and double check all your clearances. That means bearings, apex seals, side seal and oil rings. Don't take short cuts if you want it to last. Also grab a Racing Beat performance catalog it has alot of helpful hints. And do as much as you can with the oiling system. Here is a link to help you out http://www.mazdamotorsports.com/weba...s/servlet/Tech lots of good tips.
