Volvo S60r's are pretty quick!
Don't normally race on the highway, especially not sedans. Don't really care about the kill actually just more suprised at the s60. I usually don't get suckered in unless it's a z06 or something with *****. But got out of work today and merge onto the tollway. I see a black car come up on me really fast and zip around me. I wasn't really in the mood to race a sedan but he hit the brakes really hard and punched it again. The road was open so I figured what the hell. He had at least 1.5 to 2 car lengths on me and was accelerating away when I shifted into 3rd. No idea how fast he was going at this point but I was doing around 75. I caught him easy by 100 and blew by him and shut down past 120 and had him by 2.5-3 carlengths. Anyway the point of the story is I was actually a little bit suprised at how long it took me to reel him in. It wasn't long, but longer than I figured for a volvo sedan. An easy kill but those things are suprisingly quick! About on par with camaros with a bit of work, a sti or almost a c5. Did a bit of research and those things can make 300s to all wheels with just a chip and exhaust. Not bad! Nice death, but props to the s60r for being a 4 door sedan that can hang with sports cars.
93 rx7 w/ gt35/40 turbo & supporting mods. She only dynos ~300 rwhp, but that's on a mustang awd where a stock rx7 makes around 185. For frame of reference she does 40-145 in about 12.5 seconds. z06s usually only put less than a car length on me during a good highway run. Actually beat one once but I'm sure it was driver error.

Nice kill. Some of those volvos can get your attention. There are some real sleepers (depending on if the guy cares about going fast) in some really unlikely cars.
Keep it up!

Not the company
Yep, those cars are amazing! Nice kill though! BTW, i thought they already made 300hp, but maybe that's crank and not wheel hp.
I know it's slower but i still like to surprise ppl when i'm driving my dad's S80 T6. Volvo has some fantastic cars, i've been beaten by a sleeper station wagon Volvo when i had my FD.

there's a guy that comes into the garage where i work in an older volvo station wagon, it used to be diesel (which is all it says on the back so i'm not sure on the model) but he has a mustang 5.0 swapped in and moddified. not the fastest thing out there but a hell of a lot more than what u would expect from a wagon. he shuold me pics of some monster burnouts, not bad for what it is

If you like quick Volvo's check out more conversions here:

He has done Ford 5.0L conversions for Paul Newman and David Letterman, including a 500HP 960 sedan.
I like the 32V V8 Mercedes wagon as well.

BTW: I have about 268 HP and 286 ft-lbs of torque in my Mercedes 300TE wagon (C36 drivetrain): http://www.silcom.com/~neilv/sportline

i used to have a S60r and they are very fun almost as good as a audi s4 but i think the all wheel drive on the volvo is a little soft but very nice for a sedan with tons of luxary and its a very heavy car---good kill

I'd also like to know who tuned the car, not saying it isn't running well, but even 350 to the wheels on a dynojet (~300 mustang) is pretty low depending on boost level.
