Volvo 760 TD eats RX-7 NA ALiVe
I know Im going to catch HELL for this one but I can justify the post having a T-II parked in the garage...
Im crusing along highway-95 east going about 65 MPH and roll on the back of a shiny red RX-7NA (FC) who is tooling along at maybe 50 or so. I kill the A/C, drop down to 4th for the pass and hear him downshift just as I pull along his left side. He starts picking up speed and Im coming hard into my powerband and boost is coming close to 17 pounds. We are both going around 90 by this time and I shift into 5th at 20 pounds and still running 3900 RPM, I literally ran away from him at this point and put 5 car lengths between us by the time I let my foot off. Well the kid didnt let this one go so easily and kept the juice on and closed the gap, I dropped back to 4th and gave another go this time wrapping up to 105 MPH and put almost a half mile between us. I dont know if he had a death wish or was just plain stupid but kept trying to pass me up until we got into some light traffic and a stoplight. We both had to stop for the light and the moment I got the green I let the poor sucker have it. By the time he got to 2nd I was midway through 3rd coming close to 60 MPH and he was sucking my DIESEL exhaust... Thats right I tore this kid a new ******* in my 85 Volvo 760 GLE TurboDiesel!!! After that he turned off down a dirt road never to be seen again, I assume it was to lick his wounds and clean off the soot!
My mods for the Volvo: E-code cyl head, 160-001 type injectors 3" open exhaust and late model intercooler along with 'K' spec injection pump. Yes its a diesel, yes it kicks *** and yes it gets 45 MPG...

Its a diesel, weighs in at 3440 pounds compared to what maybe 2800 or so for a 86 FC non turbo? Big difference now to mention having 3:42 gears in the back.
I also noticed Cosmo is also located in the twin cities, its a nice small world

everyone has misconceptions that turbo deisels are slow.
i've driven some modded diesel trucks and they can be quite fast and you're in a lighter car so i definitely believe it.
hell, Cummins/Dodge built up a 735HP/1300 lb-ft of torque motor out of a 5.9 liter with a top speed of 222MPH...

btw i don't think you are thinking of the right twin cities badge, there is many twin cities out there, we are on the west coast.

My dad's work truck was a Dodge turbo deisel with GOBS of mods from BANKS. It had a BANKS turbo upgrade, BANKS fmic, BANKS intake, BANKS 4.5" exhaust & dp, BANKS 6Gun kit, Bullydog propane injection, and Bullydog nitrous injection. Badass to say the least.

Im not sure what YC twincities means in his profile. Ive been to Quad Cities and a few other something cities but never seen another twin cities and if they do exist they are fake... No doubts about it.

Yuba City, twin cities with Marysville
what makes a twin city anyways? i know there is a lot more self proclaimed twin cities than ours and yours.
ours is a historical claim, the cities were almost identical in design when they were built in the late 1800's divided by a river.

The fact that a diesel in itself wasted a sports car is the idea in itself. Think for a moment, Im dealing with a 2.4 liter indirect injection diesel that was book rated for around 120 horsepower at 5,000 RPM (not a typo) and this engine dropped into a 3000+ pound car and mated to a poorly spaced gearbox. Im sure the guy would have done better if he knew how to drive the rotary and not run it past the redline
