How much power are you putting down to achieve this speed? I remember Crazy Dane did a video and topped out his 7 too...Be safe out there.

G's 3rd Gen 03-09-06 01:59 PM

pretty crazy....

Montego 03-09-06 02:07 PM

that was cool.

I liked the second vid better :)

RX7Wishing 03-09-06 07:28 PM

Thats indicated speed... I wonder what actual ground speed was.. Prolly like 165 170ish?

ratincat 03-09-06 08:18 PM

was at 368 after rx7 store tuned it
but prolly up alittle more i leaned everything out just a tad from 10.5-1 to 10.8 to one

greg schroeder 03-09-06 08:34 PM

cool!

Be careful bud.

1QWIK7 03-09-06 08:43 PM

Well you did about 8k rpm's in 5th gear.

Can anyone convert that to MPH?

Not doubting your speed, you def did 180 and a bit more cause rpms were still moving when the needle was on 180 but idk, wont the car be a bit unstable at that speed?

I mean one slight movement and that coulda been your ass.

RX7 RAGE 03-09-06 08:49 PM

nice man, u got some big balls of steal. :D

Yellow R1 03-09-06 09:18 PM

Why is it every guy that posts a vid has to include some baggy azz jean wearing homey music that not only blows, but is also so loud you can't hear the car? I guess I'm getting old - all that music sounds the same to me. Ahhh, the days of Rush & Van Halen...where have all the good tunes gone? :)

I digress,....Dude, get your car properly tuned. 356 rwhp is what I had with stock twins @ 14 psi on a heat soaked motor? A properly set up T-78 is good for 450ish rwhp on pump gas.

Be careful on the top end, like someone said - one blown tire or mistake & you are likely DEAD.

kukri 03-09-06 10:42 PM

I thought FDs weren't aerodynamic enough to go that fast safe.. Haven't u seen video of a white FD flying into the air at 215 mph in the desert?

scratchjunkie 03-09-06 10:44 PM

you are out of control man!

ratincat 03-09-06 11:29 PM

Honestly, you shouldn't do it. There have been forum members here killed going a lot slower. These cars are tin cans and you get a blowout or hit a dip in the road etc and you're done. Just my 02.

ratincat 03-10-06 12:17 AM

yea it was more of a one time thing wont be going that fast for a while less its on watkens glen back stretch
