Taurus SHO went downnnnnnn
It was my buddy's SHO and we knew I would win but I wanted to see how I did aganist his car. We lined up, I revved it to around 4.5k and dumped it. Since im used to driving n/a rotaries I kept my foot planted but all that did was spin my tires up to 8k. Nevertheless I still got the jump on him and ended up with about 3-4 car lengths before I let off close to the top of 3rd gear. Ive got a boost leak so I hit around 5psi in 1st, 6psi in 2nd, and 7psi in 3rd.
Mods are FD fuel pump, full RB exh (3in all the way back to dual 2.5 or 2.75in), MBC set to 8psi (though it will hit 9 or 10 in 5th.. I need to fix that), FD alt.

Didn't you expect to win though ? SHO is N/a w/ maybe 210 HP, you have a Turbo, boost controller and turbo back exhaust on a car that already has 190hp at stock boost w/ no mods. Turbos get you up to speed quicker. It's like me racing my fathers 300hp 350 Monte Carlo w/ a Evo MR w/ light mods. Evo wins. You should go find a Turbo car & race them, right ?

We both knew my 7 would win. We raced when it was stock and I walked him--we then went again after the mods just to see how it improved. In a few months ill have a 3800SC swapped Fiero and a built 454 Nova SS to contend with.

I have and FD and a 94 SHO for a daily driver. The SHO is rated at 235 crank hp. That is the early generation with the 3.2L Yamaha V6, not the 3.4L V8. Surprisingly performs well at higher RPMs where the variable valve timing is. But definitely no match for my FD. Pulls an EVO from a 60mph roll (it was my buddy's EVO and I had witnesses!!!) as bad as my FD did with a boost leak netting me 4psi... I have also raced the SHO with my FD when my Dad (surprise!!!!) was driving the SHO to the shop for me and it got couldn't keep up with my 5th gear or even stay close from a dig... See mods in sig

HAHAHA If you don't own the car I would say it's a bit hard for you to make assumptions... But you are entitled to your opinion. I wouldn't get on a forum and start spitting bullshit. Sorry to disappoint you, but I'm a truth speaker... And I'll do my best to get you a vid. If you have ever rolled an EVO on the freeway you would know they are not good freeway cars. From a dig the AWD owns, but at 60 mph my FD has beat them staying in 5th gear... I didn't think it possible myself and it was not a "WALKING" of an EVO, however 1 car length is 1 car length and that would constitute me being in front and therefore beating him.

he makes a couple good points. I've been saying it all along. EVO's are great off the line, but they are 4 door turds on the highway (the fd's playground!) I could see a SHO beating a stock evo on the highway.

Well I wish I could've video taped last night drags. lol I got lined up with a tastefully modded EVO on run #2 of the night with the SHO... He ran a 12.32... Best ET for me was a 15.5@214mph (no joke) the MPH sensors were wigged out last night. Not a freeway race but give you an idea of it's freeway capabilities with such a high trap speed

I don't know, man, i don't have a taurus sho, but I have driven evo's on the highway, and they have no ***** past 60. I'm not saying it would walk away from an evo, but it might pull on it slowly. Just sayin, I wouldn't be too surprised if it happened.

That has to completely true since the sho weighs about the same as an EVO give or take 100lbs, with no where near the power output, the torque curve, or the gearing.
No one is trying to rain on your parade here or call bs, but next time, tell your 'friend' to not race you in the EVO with a full house of passengers and a full tank of gas, while you are running practically on E in the sho by yourself. Either that or get your ‘statements’ to correspond to each other next time.
EVO < SHO ; SHO < FD 4psi ; EVO < FD 4psi & in 5th gear all just points to---->WTF?!?!?
I don't see any mods for you FD or times posted in your sig.

Enough bitching and number crunching. I've owned 2 evos...no, they are not that fast from a roll...especially a quick roll. The Evos I had were in different stages of modification from stock to having cams, exhaust, intake, tune, etc. Either way, they just don't pull very hard from a roll unless you shift to the lowest gear possible before redlining, but then you're faced with a shift right off the start.
That being said, I can't imagine an SHO being quicker than an Evo, even with that handicap...and I doubt a good-running Evo with a compitent driver will lose to an FD with 4psi in a real race. I'm sorry...I like FD's too...but they're dogs without that boost.

This goes back to you saying in quotes: you can pull an EVO just as bad as your fear-for-you-life-speed 4 psi FD. Yet you quickly contradict yourself by saying in 5th gear at 4psi you will kill the sho. If the sho can't even stay close from a dig, your FD must be as fast as an EVO off the line at 4psi as well. Makes me wonder what kind of times and trap speeds you can do without boost leaks at regular boost...

Where does it say I raced the SHO at 4 psi?? I raced the SHO at the full 14psi.
FYI Evo had one passenger as did my SHO and I don't pay attention to fuel unless the gas light's on...
Tried to ammend the sig for mods but they don't fit cuz you can only have 250 characters. The sig was changed recently after the update.
13.6@104mph Intake, FMIC, DP, catback.
FD now has HKS intake, HKS FMIC, HKS SSQV BOV, TurboXS MBC (14psi), HKS 3" DP, RX7store 3" midpipe, HKS Hi-Power, Apex'i Power FC, No airpump, No A/C.
