Like with any car you get your fair share of *********. I think there are two types of RX8 owners out there. The ones that know what the RX7 is about and have followed the car from its inception and the posers who bought the car to look cool.

I'd love a RX7 but I need the four seats. So my choice was between the RX8, a Mustang and a G35.

The RX8 was the most distinct of the bunch and it had a rotary! I've had a fast car previously. It was a 84 Capri RS with a 305hp engine and 150hp nitrous kit. I spent so much money on that car replacing rear ends and tires and clutches and......

I've had my time with the high HP car. The RX8 gives me excellent handling, great style, amazing brakes and enough power to do what ever I need to do in traffic.

So when you run into another idiot like the one you have described, realize that the guy really isn't a car or rotary nut, just a pretender that doesn't deserve the moniker RX on his car.

BTW I also went from a 7 to an 8 and have no regrets. The 8's chassis is far superior to the 7's which makes it a great racing platform. Sure it's not as fast as the 7 in the straights, but driving this car in the corners won't dissapoint.

If your talking about RXCited he's had a 82 rx7, an 85 rx7 gsl-se and and a rx8. All great cars. He knows his rotaries and feels the FD was not a reliable car and a car made for gearheads. How many have you owned? Your another idiot who knows nothing calling someone else an idiot.

You got pretty excited over nothing...maybe you are one of those RX8 pretenders. I have an RX8 and have worked on a couple first gen RX7's with my cousin.

I like the car but recognize its limitations and that it isn't the most amazing car even. Take you head out of your butt and look at things objectively. You're the guy all these RX7 owners love to eat at a stop light because you are too dense to understand that they will own you every time........

what's up with some of the RX-8 owners hating? we 7 owners recognize the 8 for what it is, an excellent sport sedan. It is not the fastest car in the world, but it is a cool car. 8 owners need to recognize the history of the rotary engine, and the fantastic achievements made by Mazda in the past 30 years. The 7 is the pure sports car, the 8 is the sporty car. period.

I'm an 8 owner who knows the history, performance of the 7s- 3s- everything rotary. This is my first rotary, cause its the first time i am at a point where I can get one. I've wanted one my whole life. I think you can compare the two cars and all cars based on the fact that they're all rotaries. We're all the same family. the 8s not a 7. Its not rocket science. the FD is faster than the 8, everyone knows that, who cares at least. But we can be and should be compared together, cause their are similarities.


That being said, much respect for ya, your ride and all things non piston. But please, don't say you can't compare to cars that share the rx badge.

I never said one was better, just feel they can and should be compared. Glad you can use bold and colors. I can read fine, and if you read my post, it starts off by saying, don't get all pissy about us ignoring you guys, then bash on the 8 and act as if its this strange car that can't be compared to all other rx cars. Its like the rx7 because its a rotary. that was my point. Sure they're different performance wise, and philosophy wise, but they at the root are similar, in my opinion, If you disagree, thats yours, but no ones right or wrong. They are both cars designed to go fast and handle well-achieving both goals by a small sized rotary engine. I never said the FD was inferior. Nor the 8 superior.

Its people like rxcited that make me avoid waving, cruising with, or associatign myself with 8 owners.

with one exception, my friend cj has an 8, cool guy, he loves all rotaries, his life goal is to own an rx3 coupe, wagon, rx4 fb fc fd and 8.

so he gets a badass 8 owner award.

im always pointing out to stupid people that they wouldnt have their "mad tite" rx8's if it wasnt for the 7's.

simply said, shut the hell up, stop being a retard and realize that you wouldnt have **** without us beign around pal.

obviously, you dont need a fast car if you happen to have 4 doors and 4 seats.

These guys treat the rx8 like a bastard child that they can't accept even though it came out of the same womb as thier cars. They don't like 4 seats and the fact that it's a gentleman's car. Their rotaries are dated and made for the primative neandrathal type man who carries a big club with mods. I concede that the FD will last if taken care of, if you have a maechanic that knows the car, and you don't mod it. I Think the 8 is superior as an engineering improvemnt but that's just rubbing salt in the wound. They argue about everthing I say. It's their forum.

wow, ive always thought of the 7 as a rare, beutiful car that happens to be in a league of its own.

and an fd as a gentlemans car as well, just with quite alot more pep to it.

sorry man, a clean fd, well taken care of, is sexier, ALOT sexier.....

the 8 is more for the yuppie guy who wants a sports car, but has a family, so he has to compromise.

either that, or for 18 year olds who want a sports car, but their parents wont let them get a pure breed sports car, so they end up settling for the 8.

either that, or they get an evo or an sti. haha

i like to put 8's in a league below evo's and sti's, seeing as they do all the same things an 8 does, but can do it faster.....


and as of late, i like to put most 8 owners in the same category as civic owners.
they act about the same and dont show appreciation and think they have the coolest, fasest thing on the road.

luckily there are a few exceptional 8 owners that keep me from losing all faith in the rest of the bunch.

i will admit, the 8 is impressive engineering for the rotary platform, but it could have been alot better.

but to go as far as to call its predecessor "neanderthol" is simply retarded.

the 8 is a good family car for somone who has rotary fever, end of story guy.
