Rx7 VS. WS6 Firebird... Uh oh!

Constant threat
A few years ago I played with a STOCK WS6 T/A, I'd stopped at an intersection, he was turning behind me. I wasn't really going to get with it, but when he turned after me HE got all over it, and pulled into the opposite lane to pass me. So I decided to see how my car would do against this thing. Basically from about 40 - 135 we were pretty much even, he'd pulled about half a car against me when he lost ***** or whatever, because I took it on up to a little over 150 and walked away. Kept in it for a mile or so, then backed back down to the speed limit, the guy comes up and we both stop at the next intersection and give each other thumbs up.
It was pretty cool. I have no doubt from a dead stop he'd have killed me, though.
That was when my FD was just running a dp and modded airbox.
Point is.....those cars are pretty bad-*** just stock, and the mod list is pretty extensive and those thing can make BIG hp and torque.
Nice to hear you gave him at least a bit of a run.

.1% of all modified 13B REW FD's would win in a race against a stock LS1 FD...
Or,
1 out of 1000 modified 13B REW FD's would win in a race against a stock LS1 FD...
I've got to do it.

LS1 FD's are for people who want an RX7 but are too emotionally weak to drive one, so they put in a more common motor (read piston motor) until they are strong enough to deal with the slack that they will cop for owning a rotor!

Now, throw that all out and put a Flowmaster catback and some decent headers and it'll sound awesome.
But at the same time, yeah rotaries sound way cooler to me.

maybe it was a BIT extreme...
so lets say 99.8 instead

I just have to chime in here. I think this is pretty funny, The Ls1 Fd in the pics that have been posted here is mine and this is about the 4th time I have seen it posted and I have no idea who took or made that picture with the caption!!! No point really, just funny to me.
Oh and about the comment of liking the Rx7 but too weak to deal with the rotary, I have owned my Rx7 since 99 (longer than most people on this board I would say). It was rotary powered up until a year ago. Single turbo with almost 450rwhp, I tried as hard as I could to put up with it but there comes a time when you have to realize that you are more stupid for dumping another 3k into a new motor than to just put a reliable one in.

I have to agree with my good friend Rx7thHeaven.
After 8 months of dealing with a fresh rebuild which only allowed me to put 750 miles on the car in those 8 months before having to pull it and sent it back out for warranty rebuild, I was shown the light (cue the angelic music and the parting of the clouds) and realized the sweet whooshing sound i was hearing was not that off the amazing turbos, but rather was that off the dollar bills whooshing out of my wallet.
I soon realized I was bragging more about how fast I spent money on my rotary than I was about has fast it could and/or should be. Then I was BORN AGAIN! And realized my salvation rested in the hands of a finely tuned detroit angel who would start and run with the regular frequency of the sun and the moon.

why not just admit it, when the latest Fbody cars came out, they were hard to beat. Ford had to supercharge the boat anchor to keep up with the GM boys. With the latest 7.0 GTO the have the buttstang beat by a mile! Too bad there so much money and ugly as hell. But the LS-2 is a bad ****.

while i hate gm there is something to be said about a nice ws6 or ss ls1 car. i have numerous freinds with them and a few of them are 10 sec every day street cars... of course then there also are the 10 sec noble and e55 around also. for a relatively small town we have a good mix here... except rotary. i plan on rectifiying that soon!
