The only reason why they are fast and you can't catch up is cause the bike is signifcantly lighter. Honestly, I don't think it's fair to race a bike and a car unless the car has about 1300 WHP. They are two very different types of tranposrtation. That's like comparing a skateboard to some kind of a scooter. There has to be a formula to find this out about mass and output power to see if the car can haang.

nonsense, bikes can be defeated from a roll

aerodynamics and horsepower dominate the equation at higher speeds (triple digits and up), and bike aerodynamics are notoriously bad

I ran my friend's R1 from about 70 to 120 and we were dead even (of course he had his g/f on the back ), and I only had 320 hp at the time

the rolling resistance equation is fairly complex, because aerodynamic drag increases geometrically at higher speeds

the common misnomer you always hear on this forum is "better power to weight ratio = I win"

"Twist of the Wrist 2" is a great book for any rider, especially a new rider, to pick up. Basically covers it all.

A busa can be beat with an average car having over 750RWHP (less in an FD from what I'm told) in a roll-on race, more power if the rider knows what he is doing less if he's a newb with no skills. The part that screws a bike in not the frontal area it's all the area around the swingamr and behind the rider. If you could enclose that you could make things more equal in the aero department. The one thing I've learned is never underestimate anything. I love seeing a car beat a bike because there are a ton of people on bikes that think they can't be beat. Also a new litre bike can hand a Busa/12R/14R it's *** in a straight line if the rider knows what he/she is doing and a 600CC bike can do the same from a dig, it's more about the rider when it comes to bikes.

Now there's some guy challenging me on a ducati 996. It seems all these bikers communicate and figure out who has the quick cars. LOL

I hear they're only like 112HP? He said he will even give me a lead.

Ugh actually it's a ducati sport classic 1000. Racing in a straight line is weak. I'm just gonna go to a road course track and race. LOL

HAHAHA!!!! I would ask him if he is the one that wants a head start!! But honestly...Bikes are all about the rider. 600cc sportbikes CAN run 10sec 1/4 miles, but that is with a PROFESSIONAL RIDER. 99% of ppl who ride sportbikes cannot drive even close to that. Myself included, best I rode on my 600 was a 11.2. The Ducati's are jokes when it comes to power (except a nicely modded 999). Thier 748i would run in the 600cc class and get whooped all the time.
