On the street from a dig the FD will take out the Supra...or should with a competent drive. On a roll it would be darn close.

Well calm down people we dont know anything yet.

Is It an MKIV?
Is it vvti?
Is it a 6 speed?
Is it an NA-T?
Is it weight reduced?
Dose it have a built motor?
LSD?
Tourque converter?

Horsepower is just a number, for all we know he/she could have full power at 3,000 rpm.
I just dont want to see another FD go down in such a way like that again. Find out plan, use your head. FYI If it dose not have an lsd,or is na-t, or is a 6 speed, I would go from a dig or from a very low pull. High speeds the supra should pull on him.

A vid would be nice.

This should be a good race, but i've seen some VERY fast Supra's with little to no mods at all. (Of course, i know that our cars are similar and weigh less)

I raced a MKIV w/ all bolt ons claiming 451rwhp. From a 2nd and 3rd gear roll to the end of 4th. Pulled on him slowly put lengths on him each time. I remember passing him and cutting into his lane about 2 car lengths ahead and kept putting a few more by 140mph. The only negative factor being he had a light passenger. I was solo. It was a fun night! He should not have a problem even if he is a granny shifter.

Should be a good match from a roll but I think the 7s got it, especially from the dig. Definetly the 7.

a decent rule of thumb is 10rwhp for every 100lbs. so if fd makes 380 the supra will need atleast 460.

Sounded like when i raced my friends NA-T 450rwhp in my FD. But i dont think i was anywhere near 330rwhp but prob like 280-290rwhp.

I had one person, his car was full. Him, his girl, his friend and his girl in the back. So thats like what? an extra 350-400lbs? (if guy was 150-200 and the 2 girls were 100lbs each). So thats 1k plus weight. But had 200hp more.

Anyway, late 2nd pull from 50mph. He caught lead and held by one car length, i stayed with him until about 100mph, then he pulled slowly more til 120mph. I say he beat me by 2 1/2 car lengths at 120.

If its from a dig and only a 1/4 mile the 7 should win hands down unless ur buddy screws up the launch or his shifts. The Supra driver will need to be perfect to stand a chance.

he has the cocky, supra owner attitude.

he thinks nothing stand a chance against him in a straight line.

funny thing is, the race is about a month away, and the friend with the fd is about go single and aiming for a tad over 500rwhp before the race, so i guess the supra will be in for a surprise, ill try and get it on video from the stands when it happens

I'm a huge Supra fan but, since its from a dig and only a 1/4 mile long, the Supra doesn't stand a chance unless hes running drag slicks and your friend doesn't go single yet.

With a 1/4 run it really is all about the launch with two vehicles that have similar power to wieght. The RX7 usually can come out harder than a 6speed supra, especially on the street. Your friend may end up being the one in for the surprise though if he is not used to launching a single turbo vehicle...if he goes with a big turbo.

Im going to say the rx7 and it's not because im a rotor head, i just think with the supra weighing so much the rx7 is going to do better out the hole and everything
