Ok everyone im sorry to dissapoint you this is not a mazda story. Around a year ago me and my friends had a little racing team,nothing fancy the only rule was your car had to be an 88 or older. Well i was driving a 87 corolla fx, which is kinda sooped up tercel. I live in a small area with no freeways, big hiways or anything like that. But we have a lot of winding roads so thats what we build for. well one day i was out playing with the team, which consisted of a 1985 AE86, an 86 Pulsar, an 84 300ZX, a rx7 gen 1 that was a compilation of like 6 different years, and my liitle corolla. we like playing on a road known as bay road, its some small rinky dink hiway. we were sitting after a run around it and this neon pulls up. i dont know the year it was one of those coupes. He was a dude from a local town so we kinda had an idea of who he was, good guy, and he wanted to race one of us, well low and behold he chose the small hatchback with teh ugly white paint.

Well, my hatch didnt have any fancy mods, all we did was lighten it a little bit, remove the ac unit, powersteering unit and the back seat. we also stuck in a closer ratio tranny out of a four door. my suspension was horrible. but i was up for the race anyways. i knew how to drive my car really well on the road so i wasnt super scared. well one of my friends took off to the end of the road and another in the middle. we started at a 25mph cruise then when we passed where we had determined the starting point we gunned it. My smaller car pulled away with no problems until we hit the straight away then his bigger motor caught me and and for a while it was just back and forth like that, the road is a good 20 miles so it went for a while, on this road there are a few 25MPH turns or so they post on teh signs, we take them 70+ all the time there banked. so im out cornering this neon when we get to one of those turns i dropped a gear, left foot breaked and went around at a little over 80, he on the other hand slowed way down, i came out of the turn perfectly and went tearing of the a s turn ahead. i saw out my passenger window as he came out of a the turn hauling *** to catch back up but this is near the end of where we race. my problem here is that the end is a mile straight away and i dont have any top end so i stick it in fifth and floor it im cruising at my all amazing top speed of 105, and i see him catching up so i hold it and run . i ended up winning becuase he was just to far back on this road from me after the turns. we didnt bet anything it was all in fun but i proved that a crappy sohc carb motor can beat a dohc neon. that was the last race with that car i crashed it on the very same road two weeks later. so now im driving mazda, after i get a new motor in my truck ill post a kill for it too, tootles and thanks for reading a story about a little white toy
