So I was driving and a focus comes from behind and spots me. He does the typical passes me and revs his engine thing. His car had a body kit and an exhaust with probably some headers. I was running a pretty much stock s5 n/a with an intake, straight pipe exhaust, and some ignition upgrades.

So i throw it to 3rd and start catching up and then he starts to go as well. So (i think) when he ****** to the next gear i was still at 6500rpm, and i pass him still in 3rd. Now the cool part about it is that when i shift to 4th, i got the 7 to misfire. ( i know you dont want to hear that but i felt proud because it was my first race in the fc)

 

Not to burst ur bubble BUT it doesn't sound like a REAL SVT Focus....

Just cause it has the badge on the rear doesn't make it one. Also, having a body kit tells me it's a regular Focus as SVT owners are real particular to leave the body alone because Ford only built 12K SVT focus in a 3 year span which makes them rare like FD's...
I have owned a 2002 SVT Focus since '04 and it will pull on stock S5 RX7's any day of the week and keep up with SRT 4 neon's. The redline on the SVT Focus is 7200 RPM's and if it has work you can take it to 8000.
They also come stock with a Header so that's an invalid comment..

Here are some quick stats..
SVT Focus has 170HP with 150 lbs torq
Redline is 7200 RPM's (Stock)
Top speed is 140 mph ( Stock..aerodynamic limited )
I can hit 90-100 mph in 3rd gear on my SVT (they are 6 speed)

serious... chevy has the cobalt. dodge has the srt-4. ford has the svt focus. they're like american versions of a japanese movie. just not the same.

I have even pulled on 5.0 Mustangs with my Little SVT Fuckus as you state..

That's the thing I love most about the SVT Focus...everyone under estimates one until you drive one you would never know what it is capable of.. It has great handling and brakes with modest power. If it had a supercharger or turbo it would honestly be a much better car. I know of a few SVT Focus with aftermarket turbo systems that run consistant 11 sec 1/4 mile times...daily driven..

and YES...I use to laugh at them till I bought mine as a daily driver for work. since then I have put 130K miles on it and I have beat the **** out of the car.. It still runs hard and is very dependable..


So unless you have driven one and can back up any negative comments...your ignorance will be forgiven..

 

YES... it is a compact built to compete with the Civic and Cobalt...so it's stats aren't that impressive to you...

this also means that a stock srt4 on a roll should beat a stock fd

 

I'm sorry but no way in hell would a Focus SVT beat a SRT4 in a race. Facts are that the SVT runs a mid 15 second quarter mile and an SRT runs a low low 14 second quarter mile. My friend used to destroy my other friends SVT with his regular Neon with a couple of bolt-ons. Then the SVT got a turbo and it was decent, still not fast.

 

even if you beat a car with an srt4 you still look like a *** just faster might as well buy a turbo bug it looks like hatch back version of the srt4

if the svt wasn't trying then that's sad.

also a car may be able to do 14's but with a bad driver a 15s car will win.

example. My fc beat a gsr swaped civic. my friend driving my fc lost to the same car and driver.

 

First you'd have to be beyond horrible at driving to lose to a car a full second and a half slower than you.

Second the race in this story was from a third gear roll.
