My first kills :D

Well, for a 89t2 thats hindered with violent fuel cuts when i get on it i think i did pretty well. Mainly just cuts out so hard that it feels like my engine is gunna blow but anyways onto the kills.

First kill:
So i was just cruising along from the autoparts store when suddenly this silver 2004 golf pulls up behind me at the light. I dident think anything of it untill the light turned green and the golf just drops the clutch and burns out what seems to be forever. Well my first reaction is really to ignore it since its usually a busy intersection and i dont feel like causing an accident or sumtin, but as soon as we get on the main road and i can see clear ahead i just dump it. Sad thing is i was 4 cars once i hit 80 i almost think he wasnt racing(if it wernt for the fact he followed me passing 2 cars in beginning) . Well he catches up a bit later and i give him the thumbs up and he gives me a friendly flash. I take a turn and we go our seperate ways.

Second Kill:
Well nothing really note worthy other then a hemmy trucks going to some kids head. Was at a light when this truck pulls right behind me practically touching my bumper, high beams no less. So i pull out normal not thinking much the he starts wailing on it and riding my bumper. Well im kinda irritated so i get on il a lil when he drops gear and try to pass me, well i wasnt taking **** from lame dodge truck so i just drop to 3rd poping along and by 80 i pulled 2 car lengths from him which i think the kid god shaky and slowed down anyway. Thing is i think most ppl just give up once they hit 60 and cant catch up.

Well nothing to big but since these are my first kills since i got the rex running again i wanted to post em.

well i wouldent call it mods considering its more of a hinderence,
emissions removed,
turbo back rb exaust(which causes the fuel cuts)
89 t2 J spec swaped for blown 89 t2

thats pretty much it i still need to get myself a FCD and some 720s then maybe i can have fun, atm the fuel cut (which causes my car to pop, hesitates and shoot flames in musical succession scare me to think i might blow something) makes me rarely rev past 4 grand and/or full throttle.

good way to blow your engine eventually... run good for a while though. If you want your engine to last, get injectors from an 85 GSL-SE and replace your 550 secondaries with them. And try to restrict your boost to 11-12 psi. Fuel cut comes in at <9 (8.6 psi I think) but your stock IC is crap after 10. Good luck and nice kills. Now go get some real cars. With clutch, drag radials and 10 psi that's a mid-hi 12 sec car

You can restrict boost by restricting your exhaust and a blow off valve may help a little too. You might think that's ghetto and it is but not as ghetto as blowing your engine due to simple overboosting and being without your car for a year...

well there is a stock blowoff valve, but i guess it irrelivent when your pushing more then stock psi, im gunna buy a apexi safc and see if im pushing more then 10 psi( with the fcd of course) and port my wastegate so i dont boost creep. doubt i push more then 10 since i do have the original airbox and its probally restricted due to lack of filter change anyways.

Port your wastegate, otherwise you'll be fine, and if you don't have an accurate boost gauge, get one. I have an 89 TII and when I was running 3" intake + 3" exhaust I could keep it at 5.5psi in lower gears with just a ported S5 wastegate, it did creep to about 7-8 in high gears though... If your running a stock ECU, fuel system, fuel control etc... it would be a good idea to keep the fuel cut in place as a safety and port your wastegate so you won't hit it.

I was able to free up 1 additional psi boost by switching to a cone K&N from the stock box, plus faster spool. And Rosey, your car may have had something wrong with it to be boosting 5 psi with an exhaust just because of a ported wastegate. My '88 ran into fuel cut (almost 9 psi) as soon as I got exhaust. With intake and exhaust I was pushing 10-12 psi, although I never ported my WG.
