me vs. 03/04? cobra
While on the way home earlier, i saw this silver 03/04 cobra that sounded like it had a exhaust... and possibly a few other things that i couldnt tell. we were toying around until we cleared traffic. from a 50 roll, i took the jump slightly by half a car but right when i go into 4th he was already 1 1/2 car lengths ahead of me. i think we stopped at around 100 mph but i wasnt really paying attention, gave him a , took my exit and went on my way home. this was my first race against a cobra with my rx7 so I was pretty excited. it was more of a death than a kill.... lol!
my car is a 1993 rx-7 5-speed with the only supporting mod being a b&m shortshifter.

yeah those 03/04 cobras can be mean. Not bad though for you only having a b&m short shifter. Do you have the other bolt-ons such as exhaust and such? If you don't then it might be a lot closer next time you guys race.

when you get a dp,exhaust, pfc and intake on it I'm sure you could beat him if he only beat you by 1 1/2 cars last time.
good kill again and good luck if you race him again

I have run 1 03/04 Cobra. I believe he was completely stock. Unfortunately for him, I am not. Needless to say, it was not pretty. We ran about 5 times(once from a stop and the rest from a roll) and I easily beat him by 8 cars or so.
Anyway, get those mods done and you'll beat him for sure. Or at least another one, if you don't see him again. Good luck

I'm surprised he didn't pull harder on you. that's a (depending on the source) between 395-425whp car stock that takes very well to mods and only weighs in at 3600ish lbs. Vs your ~225 whp and depending on trim level between 2780-2900lbs. Id' think he'd have pulled a bit more.
Either way, nice write up, get some mods and you'll definately feel the difference.
