Hey thanks Outkast, I appreciate the info and advice. Well my car does go like a bat outta hell. To be honest its the fastest car I have personally ever been in. Then again I live in the sticks where pick up trucks seem to rule. There is Vettes and stuff but for the most part they are left mostly stock. As far as the LT1 I had I was hard on it but never as hard as I have been on the rotary. The funny thing is I was just sitting at a stop light and it popped at idle. It made afunny noise the idle rose a bit and then it died and I had smoke rolling out my tail pipe. Anyway I am not hating on anyone just GM as a corprate monster LOL. I also believe 400rwhp can be achieved reliably. I may not get 100k out of my motor but I believe I will get more than 10k. Well I may upgrade the fuel again and I suppose look at a standalone for a T-78. I am not sure what I am gonna do. Like I said just an option. Like I said I live in Fargo ND and it is the sticks. Most people think that there stock 350s and 400s are gonna run against a decently modded turbo rotary. People around here still cannot believe how fast my car is with that little motor. Anyway I will have to see what the locals can brew up this year. I am not saying I am the fastest car just that I surprise a lot of people. I have the only TII here and there is a couple mildly modded 3rd gens. For the most part I dont have to much to worry about yet. If these people start doing some serious mods with their LS1s I am gonna have to give the Ol T-78 another look. Also did you notice a big differance going from 4:10s to 4:30s?

Yes, 4.30 = worse fuel economy + 4000 rpm on the highway in 5th gear at about 80 mph. It does help a lot to spool the laggy T78 and in the 1/4 mile. Enjoy your TurboII and take car of it, by the way the stock turbo in the TII maxes out at 280 hp, 240 to the wheels, you may get 300 at 15 psi with a front mount and street port. Anyway, 12 sec times are entirely possible but you MUST upgrade your turbo/intercooler/computer/fuel for 400 hp. Good luck man.

my brother has a trans am ws6 (ls1). he has chip, intake, exhaust. at atp dyno in fremont, ca, he put down 324whp. the owner before has taken it to the track and have gotten 13.4. we occasionally cruise and get in some second and third gear pulls. with intake, downpipe, catback, pfc, i slightly pull away from on at the top of third. my previous setup with a large smic, i was pulling away from him almost a car length at the top of third. i have gone vmount recently, and beleive my setup has less pressure drop than my old, since boost comes in way faster, and i'm seeing higher peak boost with the pfc in all the gears, i should be able to put a little more distance in a race with my bro.

you can also read my run in with an lt1 here: https://www.rx7club.com/west-rx-7-forum-193/got-off-warning-rotary-extreme-vmount-comments-too-414962/page2/

not trying to steal thread, just sharing my info for comparison vs ls1/lt1,
chris

LS1 doesn't have any chip to replace or to install. It gets it's ECU reflashed, aka, tuning.

Those numbers are far below the average and I'd say optimistic. Realistically they are a low to mid 5 sec 0-60 mph and a high 13 sec 1/4 performer. Besides the FD was never intended to be drag car anyway. Where it would really run rings around an LS1 is on a track.

I agree they are slightly below the average, due to drivers, and the age/condition of stock cars being tested today. However, I would not call them optimistic as that is exactly what Mazda claimed and some (although few) people have bettered those times. There is a CYM on this forum that ran 13.4 with dry rotted original tires.

You are correct though, many people are running 14s in their stock, and 13s in their modded FDs. That is pathetic, my automatic minor bolt on 93 ran 13.9@103. Did you know that one of the magazines ran a 14.1 when they tested the C5 corvette??? Even an auto vert runs 13.4...........can you say driver
