Gsl-SE Vs RX8
Wow, a second kill for the day, i have way too much fun in my little car.
Ok, time for a little backstory, this 17 year old kiid is given an rx8 by his grandparents, puts mazdaspeed decals on it, ditches the cats and talks crap about how slow fb's are...
this kid is always talking smack on my little fb. well im on my way home at about 9:15pm.
between tyler and whitehouse there is a long stretch of 2 lane highway called 69. well at the light that stops before 69 at cumberland,, is where all fhe fun starts.
backtrack a bit, i bump into him in traffic on broadway, he seems to be goign the same way as i am, were in 45mph traffic pacing eachother and getting into the clear, well the best clearign we got was at the cumberland road that connects to hwy69.
im stuck behind him, and a dodge truck on the right lane ( doh, i wanted to be side by side ) well i rev, he revs and say's "im gona floor it from here, hope you can keep up"
well apparently rx8's dont have too much low down power or mids for that matter, he floors it, i follow suit and start pulling, luckily we cleared enough space between the rest of traffic, i signal and pull, 2nd gear i get even, he pulls a little going into 3rd, maybe a bumper, but as soon as mid 3rd pulls around i pull half a car, by mid 4th, a full car, top of 4th car and a half and shut it down.
maybe he just cant drive.
my gsl-se shouldnt be pulling 8's like it does, this is my second 8 kill, and the auto one i ran put up a better fight. so im goign to assume he cant drive.
I just cant wait to bump into him again at starbucks, so i can hear if he talks down on fb's.
and so i can challenge him to a run when i get the holley 600 on.

Would have left me eh?
not neccesarily, ive run a 6 speed beore and he barely pulled me.
either way, wont matter after the carb setup gets put on.
i will start going after v8's instead

With my current mods, the racingbeat guys told me to expect about 190 crank and about 175ish at the wheels.
in a partially stripped gsl-se it will make a difference

How exactly can "that kid not drive" an auto correctly?
ehehe, the guy that pulled me in the 6spd was an older guy.
like rotareh from NP said, there are some older guys that i wouldnt dream of racing, they have been around cars too long and have been driving for years and years and years..... driver skill and experience have alot to do with factors of who wins.
ive walked civic si's with some mods....
ive been walked by a stock si with a great driver.
God, i hate to admit that, but it makes a difference.
but with an auto, i cant really factor in this kids poor driving skills lol

i have a 86 EFI in a gsl with full rb exaust, one day an rx8 pulled next to me wanting to race, i had to turn off the next exit to go to the local autocross, so i missed out i guess.
haha i got a friend whos grandma gave him an rx8. he also has a tII.

I had a 84 gsl-se. Now I have a Rx8 6sp. You must have raced an automatic RX8. They have about 200 hp. The RX8 6sp 238hp would totally kill you. It would kill you off the line and roll-on and top end. GSL-se 145 hp vs a rx8 6sp 238 hp. You'll be talking out the other side of your mouth if you try one. The rx8 auto looks exactly like the high power RX8 six speed. It also has a manual mode so it can sound like a manual when racing. You raced the lower powered Automatic. Like I said i owned an se and now an 8. The se is no match for the rx8 manual.
Good kill anyway.
