Whats up with this race??? this is the one i want to see
u r another typical evo owner...on the stock turbo the sti top end is not that great just like any stock turbo sti dyno graph would show..i can tell you no stock turbo 340whp evo will beat a well tune gt35r sti, i will post my dyno graph my car gets to 395whp around 4300 rpms and pulls 395whp all the way to redline...i guess if the sti's have no top end i should not have beaten that gt35r(bigger than gt30r) evo last weekend like i did...if you dont know what your talking about dont post anything...and the sti stock heads are way better than the evo's.... maybe ken could shime inhere because he did race a gt30r evo before me and he can tell you himself if it was faster than my gt30r sti on a completely stock motor...iwhere do you live.. i would like you give my gt30r sti with no top end a shot at your 340whp stock turbo evo....lets see who has no top end..[/QUOTE]

Now why you guys gotta talk crap about STI's and EVO's, I love my STI best daily driver I've ever had for the winter, although I drive my Scion more...LOL..
Although this is an RX-7 forum there is no reason to talk crap about other vehicles, remember we are all car guys..
Cant we all just get along....LOL
Here is my STI
And my Scion which probably has a whole 100HP who knows...LOL..

just spoke with another person on the sti. the HEADS hold back the flow. he topped out on a dyno dynamics which do read low at 440whp running a gt40r at 22psi. he ran the boost higher and gained no power due to the heads/cam flow. tuner told him he needed ported heads for the extra flow and power. cams were also suggested. again im not knocking on the sti im just saying as to why they usually are not top end strong cars even with superior gearing. if they are full built engines its a different ball game.
kai your sti is pretty sharp. i actually like the hatchback setup its more useable for my type of work. once they start to come down in price down the years i may pick one up.

when i was at 375whp in my rx-7 i went 11.8 at 122mph with a bad launch. mid 11's is easy with a 380-400whp rx-7. the car you raced there looked like it may have trapped 110. but then again its hard to see as he didnt brake boost and you got to jump out pretty good every time. his car does not pull like a 390whp rx7 though.

just for sh*t.. check out this vid of a gt35r evo vs a small 20g sti....evo bearly wins with such a bigger turbo, but this is in cali where evo and sti's rule the streets..

are you really going to talk about better platform? this is a rx7 forum 1.3liters SON. 4k would get us a fresh rebuild and 400+ hp, throw in another $500 youll get a clean fc shell. and on top of that the full build would take like 2 days...

u guys took it way too serious, all i got to say is... the rx7 is a amazing machine and it got my respect, it can do things my subie cant...some of which i wish it could, i almost got an rx7 but i cant live with 2 seats...you guys on here have a nice sport car and i wont deny it..but if any on here thinks a sti or evo is a shitty car, they are on crack....

sti heads do flow very well for stock....most sti's making 400whp to 500whp are on the stock heads...most evo's i know have cams even on the stock turbo..which gives me the notion that the evo stock cams are not that great..
