how fast is a rsx type s stock and how fast is it with intake exhaust and hondata? I wanna race one myself in my TII. I beat a s2000 with an exhaust leak and beat a ford mustang GT by 2-3 cars. Well, good luck on the race even though you dont need it.

let us hold up hear for a minute. This rsx is a good car with a great motor but you need major cash to go 12's in this car. Plus are we taking the driver outta this. Sure if you do not know how to drive you could loose. but if you look at the rx-7 mods(if he goes with a computer) and the rsx mods you gotta be kidden me if you think they are even close to one another. Simple math. The rx-7 stock for stock owns a rsx. well then the rsx gets a couple exhaust treatments and a re-flash. I am not sure how well they take to these mods but i am sure it isn't god awful hp increase. Now lets give the rx-7 the intake and the exhaust mods and some computer work and you are talking with the right boost and a good driver. A car that will problably be hittin down twords the 11's(notice i said with the right driver not saying you aren't) if you do the same upgrades to an rsx that you do to a rx-7 the 7 will mostlikely with the same driver be faster.

wow, so Martin, are you actually trying to claim that the RSX-S is going to beat the FD in a race...? and...why do you keep trying to compair modified cars. something you need to learn, child, is that there is always someone with deeper pockets and more power.

ok 1st of all this thread went way off topic..he asked what we thought..then we started moding cars online and say this and that...its a 06 rsx-s with intake and header....its his friend so im sure thats all it has
IMO a stock 93 rx7 will beat this car with thos mods..yes the K motors are good but only with alot of money dumped in them..withc this motor does not have..the kid is also probley riding on some 17's and its fwd its not going to hook up hes going to run a mid to high 14 at best
i have seen alot of kids waste alot of money droping k motors in to civics only to be just as fast as a gsr with bolt ons....k motors are only for the rich or ppl who want to think they are fast caz they have a k motor

a k20 type s should have what 210? lets say intake and headers are like..30 hp [being nice] but 05 type s' wieghs waht 2840 ish? divide 2840/240 u get 11.8 [without drivetrain loss)power to wieght ratio right? ehh the fd has 10.9 so basically even if you are a bad driver.. you should be able to whooop his hiney

lol sorry i guess i didint write everything... i know ppl that had gsr turbo's witch you can build for less then half of what a k motor cost and be alot faster....the k motor is the best motor honda had built..but its still cost way to much money to build/buy doller for doller you could build a sohc v-tec motor to be faster than a k motor.. k motor is like 5k for the stock motor sohc well its probley in the car so you can put that 5k in to it...let say you do 3500 in mods to the k motor and you add that 3500 to the 5k for the motor thats 8500... now drop 8500 into a sohc and see what car get to the end 1st

This shouldn't even be a discussion. There's no question that the RSX is going to get demolished... of course, like everyone said, just don't go racing with an un-broken-in motor or the supporting mods for the work you're doing.

I'm just trying to understand how an RSX that supposedly can run 13 - 14's is gonna hookup and beat an FD. Other than the fact that this is a retarded thread... correction.... become a retarded thread, there are some huge differences in these 2 cars. One was made to go fast, the other was made to be quick. I have modified many Hondas, and only a rare few (mostly boosted B series with LSD) could keep up with an FD. The biggest reason for the difference in acceleration is not found in the power it makes, but how it makes it. Go find a stock dyno for each car and overlay them. You might just see that the FD makes a better "area under the curve".
On launch the K20 is either gonna spin the tires or bog down. Launching a Vtec equipped car is not exactly easy.... hell, I drive one of the lightest honda chassis known to man, a 91 CRX with good mods. An RSX-s can beat me, I know this from experience, but an FD absolutely destroys me (I have raced both, and both were better than average drivers.)
So, in closing, it is a simple matter of physics.... the RSX does not have a fair chance at winning, UNLESS he had something up his sleeve.... and that better be a big damn sleeve because he is going to have to have a jet engine in there to catch up.
the seven can't lose

The point that I'm trying to make, is that yes IF he has only i/e and this fd has "300"whp, then of course the 7 is going to win, but if he has a reflash, itll be a drivers race..
