FD vs. RB26 240sx

So here in little ol' Iowa, there's not much for NICE cars. We still have the swapped hatches and crap but not much that sticks out like the FD. Well i talk to some FC guys that i see at the "races" a lot and one of them said that i should race his brother with the RB26 240 as soon as it's done. Well last nite, i go down and first thing that happens is a group of people surrounds me including the FC guys and they start asking if i wanted to race his brothers 240 now as he points to it. Well we finally find a race spot with no cops and line up.

Well i get a bad launch due to i wasn't expecting him to flag us that quick. So i wheel hop/spin them through first, shift to second and see a HUGE flame light up everything behind me, pull through 2nd, miss 3rd but still keep going after i find the gear and still beat him by 2 cars or so.

After we get back, he says all he did was spin a lot because he didn't have his LSD in yet and wants to do a quick 1st qear roll-in-go. So i say sure.

So we start way back and get into 1st at about 10mph. I was just going to honk 3 times but he thought we were going on the first honk so he jumped a bit but i recovered quick. I rap through the gears, this time hitting third and noticing he missed third but he kept going so i did too. I won again but when he did miss third there was about a half car between my back and his front bumper.

My mods in Sig.

His mods:
RB26
10 psi on single turbo(don't know how big)
Basic rich tune but not fully tuned yet
Full exhaust and i/c (only visual mods i could see)

it's becoming pretty common actually. most of the swaps i hear about on the forums are rb25 and rb26 swaps. mckinney made mounts for them which makes it alot easier.

Most common swaps in teh 240 are the RB25 and the SR20Det... Rb26 is the common since the motor is ment for AWD so its alot of work, money, and time to do the swap...

When i get finished with my Top Secret tuned RB 240 ill head toward iowa....give me a year or two because money at 15 is hard to get....Pulling out the KA24 to sell for about $1000 Givin me about $5000 just enough for a RB26 with RB25 Tranny, Motor Mounts, And Downpipe...Might be able to get dad to buy me a Driveshaft for Christmas...and by 2007 i should have enough for a RB28 Stroker kit...880Hp Turbo Kit to come shortly after....if i can find a good payin just for $4000 or make my own at the local Vocational School

Damn what HP numbers you have if any for the FD. A stock RB26DETT runs around 350HP depending on the model.

That hp number is way underratted because of the Jap Gentlemans agreement or whatever. It has a lot more than that in stock form.

Its 350HP or around there depending on year. Funny thing is though the NSX is the only car out of the bunch that accually kept it under the number but costs the most.

I know a lot of friend that drive IS300 with supras engine in it. Is common for them to do that swap.

even though that person swap his sc300 engine to 2jz engine. does not mean his car can outperform RX7 as you also need to consider the weight ratio. 500 HP RX7 can smoke a 800 HP supra because of this differences on the weight ratio of both cars.
