FD vs Porsche ??
I was out going to get food with the woman and my car was boosting normally which rarely happens (mayb because of the cold weather). Anyways there was a convertable porsche reving at me.. it didnt have any badges on it but i think it was a new 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet. This thing looked really sick and was very loud!
So.. it was about two cars behind me and i was in first and saw him take off. I hit it in first at about 5-6k spinning my tires as he passes me, shift to second and start to reel him in. Got to the back of his bumper before we had to shut it down because of traffic. I dont know much about porsches but was he trying, or was i capable of taking down this car? The car was absolutely beautiful. My gf = "OMG what type of car was that???"

^^ It doesnt always boost properly. Im waiting on some funds before i actually undergo any repairs/rebuild. Its really random but on some cold nights when its been warmed up for a while it will boost at 10psi... its usually pretty random though.
Im also pretty sure i know what a boxter looks like, and it was not a boxter.

Im almost positive it was the Carrera Cabriolet. Says 0-60 5.1, if my car was running right it should be faster then that.

dude y do porshce guys take off from behind like that. I raced a 911 turbo who did the same and he only beat me by a car length....if he came next to me and then we took off i believe we would have been pretty even. Porsche does suck, the only one you worry about is the 911 turbo...cause they are fast. and even then iam still on 10psi...

I love the 911. They are very linear cars, fun as hell to drive. With my mods I dont think i would have a problem with a porsche, but i highly respect them. I have a 911 sitting in my garage as well. The 911 turbo is really fast, the AWD if i remember correctly, ran high 11s?

dude we say stock porshce...but wtf does that mean. No high model porsche is stock they are far from it...so for you to say that 100k + car stock is runing 11s is not really impressive to me at all. cause you and i both know they are pretty damn built...now boxters are another story. the fd can be a far better car with alot less money in ever aspect.

Ok explain to me what a stock car is then. I thought stock meant that the vehicle was not altered from the factory specs. Please give me some other cars that can run 11's in stock trim. I like the fd it is a great car however to make such a statement as it can be "far better with less money" is just plain absurd and defeats the purpose of your argument of it being stock.

...agree, in order to get my fd to do 11's i have to spend 5k AND a porsche is a much more reliable vehicle. Very well built cars. I would rather have the 996tt than the new z06 anyday. I consider a boxter a poor or old mans porsche. If i could afford a 996tt, i would also have one in my garage. Maybe in a few years Or if indykid wants to trade me for my fd

Terrified.
I would pick a 80's 911 (Can we say 1983 911 SC?) before any other car in the world if I had the money for a good one, and didn't have to worry about a child, price of repairs, and where I was going to park it.
Oh well, my FB is good enough for now.

I believe an FD taking down a Carrera, as I have done so myself. Carrerra 4S was no match from a dig up to about 90mph...
IndyKid- a STOCK car is a race car that drives in circles 90% of the time =)
To you and ME ,and some others, it is a car "not altered from the factory specs"
If I could have a choice between a turbocharged Porsche or an FD, hands down the Porsche is my car... But I DO love my FD

I'd have the 911 as my daily driver for a reason. lol.

You're in muncie, way to go. I haven't had a chance to take the turbo to the strip yet but I've been with the poopra a few times.

dude by no means em i saying porsche sucks, but there is a difference between camery stock and prosche 911 stock. One is built for speed the other for your mom. Now i just feel that porche is a nice car but after runing the 911 and barely loosing i was a bit disapointed. But hey i guess you have a porsche so you are talking from expirence iam not. there beautiful cars but it wont be the first one i buy when i become rich. And there are benzes that run 11s stock...and they still auto trannys lol.
