fd beat by supra w/ T-74

I have to post this because it was my first run against any car since my rebuild and single turbo conversion. I am running a pineapple large street port and pt66 single turbo. My car runs so good right now that I haven't bothered to tune for more power. But nonetheless, I am putting down approx. 285whp at 7psi boost.
The supra guy said he was running 18psi on a T-74 and I think he said close to 550hp or 600hp. It was kinda hard to hear him with windows rolled down going 70mph on the freeway. I am sure you can guess the outcome.

Anyway I am coming home on hwy 14 in vancouver, wash. going east. When I spot this red, mid to late 90's supra in front of me. I come up along side of him and we exchange glances and I pass him momentarily. He pulls up next to my drivers side door and we start slowing to let traffic in front of us get about a mile ahead. We both hit it, I pull roughly half a car on him and then he reels me in real quick-like and gets in front of me by a couple car lengths. DAMN I am thinking all this money spent on a my bastard car and I can't beat a supra. wtf?
But after I get his mods and the psi he was running I felt pretty good about my car. he was running nearly 3 times the boost and almost 2 times the hp. In actuality he was only 2-3 car lengths ahead of me when we had to shut it down due to traffic.

Just wait til summer when ralph tunes this bitch to 450whp!! Then the fun will begin. Oh, and more to come -- because my neighbor just bought a brand new ferrari modena!

You either won, or you didn't know you where racing.

Nice um, death. I wouldnt recommend racing any supras running only 7 psi. Sound like you have a nice car with a badass turbo, now crank the boost!

Sounds to me like you're more than capable of some serious numbers. Why wait so long to get the car running right?

Well, it is kind of a long story.... Let's just say it is nice to have the car actually running with no headaches.
I got the pt66 put on about 350 miles ago along with an ACT unsprung 6 puck to hold all of the power. basically the reason my car is only set for 7psi was because ralph could not tune it for more power without the new clutch slipping. But I will be back over for more boost as soon as I can find the time.
Yeah more boost would be nice, I was picking up one of my clients for lunch today and this guy passed me in a ferrari enzo. I couldn't believe it-- I have never seen one in person before. My client told me I should race the guy! I probably would have, but with the supra loss so fresh in my mind I decided not to. The shitty thing is there was no one on the highway and the guy driving the enzo was practically taunting me to race him.

Pictures do not do that car justice. And the sound that thing makes when it is reving up is nothing short of spectacular. It was definitely a sight to behold!

Big single supra's sound like sex.

But still doubting your win, that or you got your numbers wrong. 285rwhp and you beat a supra that's supposedly making about 600hp??

That will never happen, especially off a roll on the highway. Thats supra territory.

"I live my life a 1/4 mile at a time! it doesn't matter if you lose by an inch or a mile...?" lol

I did not post this to fabricate some bull **** story, or to make it sound that if we would have kept going the race would have been close. ****, I have no doubt if we had open freeway he would have been in idaho before I left the city of vancouver. It was my first run with my new motor and new turbo, more for ***** and giggles than anything else.

How fast did u get up too?

Supras are best at top end, maybe they only got to like 110?

Supra might not have had enough time to pull those bus lengths?

Idk..just throwing out a suggestion?

It would depand on his other mods, sounds to me like the mk4 was slow or they didn't go very high in mph.

DONT FEEL ALONE ANGEL. I had all the hype of everyone telling me to crank the boost up since i was only running 10psi. then i cranked the car up before the tune and blew my motor. then got another car/ tunned the engine and im now making 457 @ 17lbs. just give it a little wait. but nice death

good god people I think it is pretty clear I lost.

We raced from roughly 60 to 100mph before we had to shut it down due to traffic. Honestly I don't remember if I had to shift from third gear or not. Like I said I have no doubts he would have added an amtrak length if we would have kept racing.

Since I am feeling pretty low after stating i lost so many times I am going to absolutely demolish someone on my way home from work today. Or maybe I should post last nights kill vs a wrx from a dig! ah, I will decide when the time comes.

Nice, that supra was clean and very unassuming. Is his car really an automatic? I figured he had another car for his daily driver as he stated he was currently running the car on race gas. I remember thinking, **** that must be expensive!

oh yeah and as a follow up to my frustrated last post, I absolutely murdered a late 90's model M3 coming home from work. I didn't even let up to give him the satisfaction of a fly bye. I love giving corvette, bmw, and mustang owners the business!
