Corolla Type S vs. Vert

So, I am at a light in my 88 vert and I go to make a left turn. Well I hear the car next to me spinning tires all the way through the turn (yes, it was a little wet outside,) so I look the left of me and see some punk kid looking at me. So, I gunned it with him. He was already a little ahead of me but I start pulling on him. I'm first--pulling. Shift to second--pulling (by this point my door is to his front bumper.) I'm still in second at 6k, he is already in third. I say what the hell, I dont need this motor anyway b/c I'm doing my 13BRE swap in a couple weeks so I take it to deep red. Finally, I go to shift into 3rd gear and I mis-shifted b/c I'm not used to the short shifter yet, and the shift **** is really light (which makes it hard to get into gear sometimes.) Anyway, when I missed the shift I knew it was over, b/c we were already doing 20+ the speed limit and it aint worth it, so I let off and began to cruise again. Anyway, while I'm cruisin I come back up to him and I am about to make a left turn so I wave bye and the bastard had the nerve to say "You're slow" and speed off. Even though I know the vert isnt fast because I have driven fast, this punk really annoyed me b/c he thinks that he is fast when I was just pulling on him in a Vert.

The Vert is pretty stock. It only has a short kit, headers, intake and exhaust. But, it has big 17" rims all around and a trunk load of tools (including a 4 ton jack and my 201 piece tool set.)

Eh...he'll get his in the end. Everyday he's reminded he drives a Corolla. Not only that but the TypeS with the bulky body moulding. Gross.

It just makes it worse because he put on his flashers like he really did something... I am used to driving boosted cars... and the fact that some punk like that dissed me for entertaining him (because by no means do I feel like this heavy vert is even remotely fast, especially with the overized rims) is annoying to me... I find it really odd that more people try and race me while I'm in the Vert, than they do when I'm in my T2.

Anyway, I dont usually post in this section... but I was sooooo annoyed, that I just needed to get it off my chest.

While they arent as fast in straight lines, they still do just fine in the turns. My favorite thing to do is lead some ricer down a road with curves and then put him to shame.
