There's a big difference between a Chevy Bertetta and a '06 or '07 Civic Si. And good luck on smoking those new Si's...hope you're either putting a Turbo on that n/a or ready to streetport your motor and blow major $ on perf parts. Those K20 motors are a serious n/a 4 cylinder.... New Technology Sucks !(if you have a 20 year old sports car & wanna race people)

 

Hahah, why would that kid think a Gs-r swap was gonna get him the win over the K20 ?? People are crazy/dumb. My one stock NX2000 beats stock & mildly modded gs-r's. Wanna know why ? Cars need at least SOME torque Something that the GS-r's and older Civic Si's don't have. Whenever people lose in a race they always go "That's turbo right ?" They all think that you must have a turbo to win over their muffed out Honda. I try to explain that modifying the last foot of your exhaust doesn't do **** but make noise....

Hondas are slower then most sports cars for the time. But even the new Civic SI is 190 HP and very very light.

Last time I tried to keep up with a Prelude Type SH on the highway.... yea... not even close.

Even the 4 door Accord, newer V6, stomps on an N/A RX.

I wasn't even gonna mention this due to the hating i get when i mention my Nissans but, i did a full 1st and 2nd gear pull w/ a little 3rd w/ a Prelude SH, and the kid was astonished that he couldn't get away from me, we stayed nose to nose about the whole time. Granted he was about 17 years old and it was automatic...but still made me remember why i love my little SR20DE's.

 

^^Thats really not that much of a big deal dude.. an automatic 5th gen prelude is slow as *** because it has a 4spd tiptronic with a lower redline. Lets not even get started with how much of a better N/A motor the H22 is over an SR20.. But i know you are not trying to claim superiority.. well i hope not. But i digress i don't wan't to start an arguement

It's not a big deal to me you're right, but it was to him. Yes, i know the auto SH has a 4spd Tiptronic w/ lower redline. That is why I said "Granted it was a 17 year old kid and the SH was automatic". You'll NEVER here me agree that the H22 is a "better" motor than the SR20, higher horsepower Yes, better....I find that hard to weigh... The only thing that makes it "better" is the VTEC aspect of it. And to that I say...SR20VE VVL. I will say this, had it been a decent driver and the SH been 5spd, 99% chance i would've lost. I can admit that

 

I test drove the Mazdaspeed 6....Zoom zoom indeed.

 

I have drove one as well. Awesome brakes and low end torque.

And to say that the new Civic Si is not a"decently built car" is silly, i'm not a huge Honda fan either but, you need to know when you're being ridiculous. Hondas' reputation and performance in almost all motorsports is unbeatable.
