best race ever for me:) killed though!!!
i was at wawa. saw an sl 55 pumping gas. I left thinking when i will be able to get one oneday. Next thing i know he is barreling down my bumper and blows past me. I catch up to him at the light and noted the v12 badge. i am sure it was an sl 55 b/c the sl 65 would have destroyed me by a mile. i am fucked. I am running a t78 single turbo at 15psi of boost. After the run i checked the pfc and it was right around there. I maxed out of injectors though ( 100% inj duty). No boost leak, no excuses. Light turns and we go from a dig. Right away he is two cars ahead, i pulled a little bit in third but when we shut down at 130 he was still 2-2.5 lengths ahead. this was on a country road with no traffic either way at 11 pm.
wow, what a race. i wished i was tuned on race gas. I might be running slightly rich b/c ray @ pfs is sick of me blowing up my car. I think i would have taken him with race gas @ 23 psi. I am sure i will run into him another day. I will be ready with my procharged z06. I could use the 250 more whp & torque. kevin

"Make no mistake, this is a formidable automobile, Moby Dick mass not with standing. Check the motivational specs: 493 horsepower at 6100 rpm, 516 pound-feet of torque manifesting itself along a wonderfully flat curve from 2650 to 4500 rpm. It's the most potent Benz ever offered in North America, according to the manufacturer, and also the quickest factory Benz we've ever tested: [b]0 to 60 in 4.5 seconds, 0 to 100 in 10.9, the quarter-mile in 13 seconds flat at 110 mph.[b]"

The 65 would make an interesting "race" according to your 1/4 mile time in your sig (pretty much dead even). I guess your car puts out significantly less power at 15 psi. You still should have been able to hang. Oh well - the SL65 AMG is pretty nasty once it gets rolling & its no slouch from a dig (they have excellent T/C). Who knows, he may have modded it. It's a 10 sec car with some Renntech ECU tuning (I believe ~ 890 rwtq with some Renntech goodies. With that much torque, it doesn't matter what he weighs - that is insane output).
See ya,
-Matt
