Autocrossed an E92 because the owner had an FC
So today was my second autocross event with my region and I had an unexpected surprise. After my second run I had an owner of a 2010 BMW M3 E92 (who I had a nice chat with when I tech'd his car) come up to me and ask if he could sit in my car because it would bring back a lot of good memories.
I agreed and walked with him to my car and he proceeded to tell me that his father owned one when he was in high school and in '94 his dad upgraded to the FD. So he got the FC and had it for a number of years. Very cool I thought. So after talking a bit more it was time for me to go back out for another run.
After we both took our next run a guy near me said I should ask him if we can trade cars for a run, so I figured hell why not i'll ask him. So I walk over, and said hey if you would like to we could trade cars for next heat and you could re live some old memories. To my surprise, it was an instant yes.
After our first heat was over we worked the same corner during heat two, then once heat three started we traded keys and went out. I have videos of both runs but the second one is more exciting and it was my faster run. In the end, I ran a faster time than him in his own car and beat my car by a full 2.5 seconds.
Here is the video, I did hit the limiter before the first chicago box because if I shifted before then I wouldn't have had the power to come out of it fast. and after going behind the bus stop's long left-hander then a quick transition to the right ended in drifting the car. All in all, it was an amazing experience and since he said we could do it again at more events, I am more than humbled.

Thanks guys, and he was slower both runs in my car, and I was faster than him in his car, but it took me one run to get used to the power/handling/brakes. The time pulled in that video was 58.01 Secs +1 cone.
