Cool Annoying kill against a modified GSR Integra...

So I was driving back from somewhere (I forget where), when I see a lowered, purpley-blue Integra with a fart-can and heinous altezza taillights, slightly up ahead on the two lane highway.

Suprisingly, as I neared the Integra's rear bumper from behind, a feminine hand flashed out of the sun-roof and gave my (car) a thumbs up.

Obviously, I was a bit wary of the judgement of anyone who would ride in such a vehicle, so I took the thumbs up with a grain of salt.

"What do they know about my car", I thought to myself.

Do they really think my;

*uber-rare, ultra-clean, rear-wheel drive, high performance turbo sports car* is in a similar class as their,

*ghetto-rigged, altezza laced, V-tec powered, excuse for a performance vehicle*?

Regarless, after receiving the thumbs up, I decided they were "down" to get owned. So when they got over to split off of the main highway, I quickly got over and behind them.

We stopped at a stoplight several moments later...

The driver began revving the motor, waiting for the light to turn green.

It saddens me deeply to say that at the moment my TII has a pathetically burned out clutch, so in order to preserve my clutch until a replacement is ordered, I am currently unable to launch my car, drift in dry weather, or shift hard into any gear.

Anyways, the light turns green and it's off to the races.

A 'one tire fire' such as this has never (and will never) be rivaled again in the history of the universe.

He took off like a jogger.

Even with my slipping clutch, I was able to ride his rear bumper, change lanes, and by the middle of 2nd gear I was at his driver's side window and pulling past him easily. As I shifted into 3rd gear I was a good car-length and a half ahead. The light up ahead turned yellow, so I quickly hit the brakes and came to a halt.

My passenger window doesn't work, so as soon as the Integra pulled up to the light, my friend opened up his door and kindly (and uninvitingly) told the two occupants of the 'open windowed rice-mobile' that sadly, I had a slipping clutch. In a sense, pre-mocking any thought they had of their "keeping up".

On a side-note:

Upon opening the door of the TII to speak to the Integra people, we were greeted by a screeching noise somewhat akin to a female voice coming from the passenger seat, asking,

"YOU GUYS WANNA SMOKE SOME WEEEEEED"? (needless to say I was a bit peturbed)

We said "no thanks", before hearing the Integra driver comment, "well, at least I had you on the launch".

Mentally, my inner-jaw dropped. Knowing full well that even a stock TII with good tires, will completely obliterate nearly any open differential FWD car off the line, I just looked at my passenger and supressed a smile.

Since we were already lined up at the stop-light, the Integra driver asked, "you wanna run again"?

I mumbled something as my passenger shut his door.

This time the Integra pulled out all the stops. He revved like crazy and dropped the hammer in an unprecidented .001 second reaction time as soon as the light turned green. I let off after I almost (unthinkingly) ripped the car into second gear. He dissapeared into the night to revel in his apparent victory and to smoke to his sucess in beating such a comparable adversary...

As he crested the hill and dissapeared from sight, I saw the unmistakable glow of his rear blinkers ceremoniously flashing in unison, like a victor clapping his hands in jubilation.

I couldn't believe it.

Well the telling of the story was great... But wow goes to show you ignorance is bliss. But personally I would rather have the smile knocked off my face. Not even gonna say good kill but a kill is a kill.

LOL,

I am sorry, but I found these statements to be oxymoronic, and quite humerous.

Are you sure it was a GSR? Stock for stock a TII and GSR should be closer than that, especially you with a slipping clutch. I ran an LS in my mom's Cadillac (Rated at a 15.3), it got me off the line and pulled in 1st, i started catching it in 2nd, i blew past it in 3rd. It sounds like you ran the Integra in these gears, which probably made it seem like a GSR, Hondas have good gearing in 1st and 2nd for acceleration. If you would've held it out, you would've destroyed it in top end.

If it were an older GSR

1992 Acura Integra GS-R 6.8 15.4
1993 Acura Integra GS-R 6.5 15.2

Newer is a 15.5

Turbo II

1987 Mazda RX-7 Turbo 6.6 15.2
1989 Mazda RX-7 Turbo 6.7 15.1
1990 Mazda RX-7 Turbo II 6.3 14.9

This is why i question it being a GSR and not just an LS.

I'm not pissy, i'm questioning that it was a GSR because if it were the race should've been more even, especially considering a slipping clutch.

My Cadillac.

1998 Cadillac DeVille Concours 6.9 15.1 (Actually the D'Elegance model which is 275hp insted of 300), but the Concours weighs more. I can't find the times for the D'elegance anymore, i believe it's 0-60 was 6.8, quarter mile 15.3.

Anyway, the LS pulled on me by about enough to fit a car between us off the line, but by 3rd i had caught him and passed him no problem.

I bet both of you got or get bad rep points.

I state that it's most likely not a GSR, i post back-up to my statement and say nothing bad about Rx-7s, even state it would've destroyed the LS if it were held out, then receive bad reputation points. I feel reputation should not be kept annonymous, i would leave bad reputation for giving me bad reputation for no reason.

Haha...

I raced a slightly modified GSR Integra in my SLIGHTLY MODIFIED TII.

I.E. street-ported, 9:4:1 N/A rotors, running 11psi on stock turbo with DP/MP, K&N filter etc.

I posted the story, not because it was an especially interesting KILL, but because the reaction of the GSR driver was funny... He thought his car was fast. It was slow.

I took secret delight in his ignorance.

Yeah, ITR's are quick for a stock car... Kind of.

Dude, my friends VW RABBIT TRUCK beat a stock LS... LOL.

BTW, my N/A with gutted cats and a K&N drop filter (good clutch) beat a couple GSR's when it was on the road... Granted it was higher in the gears (3rd and 4th).

Those GSR's aren't hard to spot... A lot of them say V-TEC on the back. . .

Also it's not easy to mistake a V-TEC car when it hits 5200 RPM's...
