'94 R2 vs MKIV Supra

I was on the way home from the drag strip last night ( best of 13.1@112, my clutch was slipping at higher RPM) and I came across a very nice black turbo Supra. I could tell he had a few mods, nice 18" wheels and at least an exhaust. We got a light beside each other and chatted a bit, he asked for my mods and I told him, and he was saying something about a new carbon clutch he just put in and is still getting used to. Light turns green and we pull out normal, we pace each other at ~40mph (me in 2nd), 3 honks and we hit it. I pull ahead ever so slightly at first, and we stay about dead even up until a bit over 100MPH when I have to shift to 4th, at which point he immediately pulls 2-3 carlengths ahead, I shut down ~120MPH. We do this 2 or 3 more times with about the same results. It was obvious his car had alot of power, it pulled very hard at higher speeds. Guy seemed really cool though, we gave thumbs up and he took an exit before mine. This was my 1st street loss with the FD, glad it was from a Supra though

Top end killers. I loved watching the street supras run at the track, everyone would jump on them at the light but by midway they past people everytime. It's good to have that kind of car to compare your power with.

I was running ~13-14psi (Pettit ECU). No, unfortunately I didnt get a chance to ask him what all he had done or how much boost he was running.

I have an fd w/all bolt ons, and my brother has a twin mkIV w/intake. When i was driving his car, once you get to 4500 rpm in 3rd it pulls really hard and so does 4th. His first and second don't have **** though. Anyway, my pull at 12 psi from 80mph is pry about the same as his. I might be a little faster. He gets home from a few months in california this friday, so i will try to get him to race, and get some video of it.

yeah, the supra is for lack of better terms much better from a roll, they have traction issues when they really get up in the power though.
