What type of setup are you on? Tires, turbo, etc.

On average a 2.1 best was a 2.0. 285/35/18

Right, however the supra is well known for it's engine reliability and the 7, well you already know.

Your car probably acts alot like mine with a peaky power band. You either bog or spin then fall out of boost and need to wait for it to re spool. Oh the joys of dragging single turbo cars.

2.0 is a very respectable 60ft time for a street tire supra. Hey, how do you make a 12 second supra a 10 second supra??? Bolt on some slicks!!!

I have heard of one and only one modified Supra developing an engine problem. He spun a rod bearing and drove the car home.

2JZ-GTE's are possibly some of the stoutest motors I have ever seen. With good supporting mods (at 23 psi I am assuming that you have some pretty good supporting mods) you could probably ream that car all day and night and just worry about changing the oil.

Nice kills man!

Sweet runs Indykid.. I'm KumiJr on the SF and 121mph got my supra to 11.8@121mph with a 1.8 60ft on bfg's. I'm sure if he got traction it would be 11 second passes. Now the supra run 11.3@125mph with a 1.8 60ft. Indykid just need practice with the launch and he should be just fine!

lol but what i said was true tho.. i'm not hatin on the guy, just wonderin why he posted traps and not ETs. he races from a roll which is mainly a function of trap speed. ofcourse gearin and such play a role too... but ET doesnt really matter.

just givin him advise not to post trap speeds.. and that he'd be better off postin ET's and NOT his 60 foots with those ets.

Andi Baritchi, who ran the One lap a few years back, popped 2 motors in his Supra. He was making some pretty good power, comparable to Indykid. We used to street race against each other all the time in the dallas/fort worth area in ~2000 and 2001. He ended up selling the supra for a c5 z06.

like the sayin goes, it doesnt matter if the supra has 400whp or 800whp, it still runs 12's. i have heard many guys say this and the general idea is that the supra cant hook and runs poor ET's with HIGH traps.

ofcourse this isnt necessarily true.. as we know supras can get off the line when built right.

that said its generally safer to say your ET's and not your trap speeds if you roll race, especially at higher speed rolls like 60mph+. cuz if you said 12.2, they wouldnt know if thats at 110mph or 125. thats a big difference. cuz if the guy u race runs 11.8's at 115, he'll run you thinking it would be a close race. he'll think you trap near 115 as well. but if you said 122mph traps, he'd be like no way.

idk thats what i think

the beauty of turbo cars is boost control......yes...his car may run 12.1@122 on 23psi........but @35psi assuming the car is focused around that level...he could effectively gain 200hp to the wheels.....so lets assume(this is how you must enter any street race) that he will achieve that level......his car would ultimately be in the high 120's low130's...depending on weight, which i must assume is also going to be adjusted.so inorder to be confident against this car without seeing it....i would have a mid 130's trap car and a good tire.

I dont think i heard of any 2JZ-GTE that blew up besides someone running no oil lol

Seriously, those engines are bulletproof. No need to worry about blowing up. Boost away.
