88 Vert vs. Integra GSR

Ok, my vert is bone stock so you pretty much know that i lost. First and second was even, and then when we both got to 3rd, I swear his front end just jumped up and took off, beat me by about 2 car lanes. Now i was wondering....once I am finished with my T2 swap into my vert.....would a stock T2 vert be able to take a Integra GSR.....

No.

Most likely not, unlesss the engine you're getting is rebuilt or has fantastic compression. A few modifcations to that turbo engine would make it work.

and yeah, I took a gsr easily when I only had intake (i think I had an intake then). The gsr had intake and exhaust with no cats, and I'm not sure what else. But then again I can't be sure it was a REAL gsr; this guy did like to talk a lot of ****.

you should be able to beat a gs-r if you have a tii engine with an exhaust. i'd say the downpipe is actually more important than the cat-back though.

Er, only NA's can use that heavy exhaust with little gains .

I think you're just shooting in the dark on your plans yo.

just out of curosity, you do realize the hood that came on your 'vert is actually lighter than the t2 hood, right?

No i didn't know that......actually i bought the car like that....just know that the hood on the very now is like 10 times lighter than my gx7 hood. And yes i am kinda shooting in the dark....All i truly know right now is to get a t2 engine for the vert. And after that research other mods that may help....just thought the exhaust would help. Didn;t think it'd make a difference whether it was t2 or n/a

A TII engine in a vert with good compression and a stock turbo would beat a GSR no prob.

Think about, look at the picture of a true dual exhaust, do you see a turbo fitting in there?

Then don't bother considering a swap. You'll be over your head.

What exactly do you want from the car?

How much money?

I dont think I'm in over my head at all....lol...right now i'm in college as an engineer major.....if i can do calculus, i can figure this is. But what i want from the car isnt much at all....I just want to be able to run with at least a stock RSX. A Turbo swap i think i can do. Besides I have a little help. friend of mine that works with me knows a bit about rotarys and is willing to help me out. And i know it'll take a bit of money but this is just a project/hobby of mine.

Doing calc and doing a engine swap is very different. Have you done something like this before? Ever modified a car? Its usually not that easy the first time around.

I don't doubt you can do it. But its usually not the easiest thing in the world for someone with no-such experience.

Doing right requires alot of money and time. I hope you have a second car.

I have a TII in my 88 vert, beat a Lincoln LS V8, bunch of ricers, and was head to head with a RSX Type S when I had the NA ECU, now that I have a TII ECU it runs so much better...
