It is in the same immature class as the post that generated the quote and reply, THAT'S why I used it...
I did read the ta-ta rambling reply, but if the car is sporting the stock cam, block, heads and carb, then it is stock....ditching components to make it lighter doesn't make it modified, how the hell you can think that is beyond me unless you're hell bent on "proving" Mino's car wasn't stock....but it was, street legal and everything....all the NMCA competitors thought just like you, ta-ta, and they were all proved wrong....Minos never went on record to explain how he was able to accomplish this feat and he was never caught in any of the post-race teardowns with any modifications to the drivetrain that deviated with what came from the Pontiac factory. Blueprinting an engine IS NOT modification of an engine unless you groove bearings, lighten the crank, knife edge the crank, deburr rods, port oil galleries, heads, etc....none of which were ever found in any of his engines during post-race teardown.
Something else also occurred to me regarding the actual topic of this thread...I had a buddy that had a 1970 SS454 Chevelle...it sure seemed like there were a lot more on the road than actually got made, so I asked to see that beast of an engine....that's when I found out he had the SS454 call-outs all over the car with the lovely red and black paint job.....but under the hood was a mouse motor with ram horns!!... lol....no doubt that's what you actually ran......more of my BS conjecture to enrage the "knowledgeable"....

I remember reading somewhere that a magazine took a stock 1967 427 Vette and put some slicks on it before taking it to the track. IIRC, the car ran low 12s with only some good tires put on it.
P.S. I don't believe the kill story. N/A FCs are slooooooooow; even with exhaust.

Christ, will you two give it a rest?
A stock N/A will NEVER EVER beat a stock Chevelle SS454. Ever. A real one. Not some make believe "I slap emblems on my car" faggoty ****.
A warmed over 350 will rape an un modded 87 N/A.
A stock 350 will come down to the drivers.
STFU

Yea since I really care what you have to say. By all means have the last word. My e-feelings won't be hurt like yours.
boop.....
Ta-ta....those are the rules now......back then, the rules stated you could only run what the factory offered and they never offered 90/10s, slapper bars (and this is one of the tricks if you know what Pontiac did in 1968 that Chevy didn't...in fact, no other domestic did this that I know of....) and by carb mods, I mean the obvious reshaping of venturis to increase flow beyond its original cfm rating. Since an 800 cfm Quadrabog was offered from the factory, I have no doubt he was running that.
Stock means what the car could have come with from the factory, ddjjjorrrrkkkkk....an overbore 400 was an over the counter item, so that's also considered stock as well....sucks, don't it?
And Mino ran in the twelves with his stock RAII FBird.....simple as that...get over it...I swear you sound just like all the babies that kept making him tear the engine down over and over again just to have to eat a plate of crow....say, if you turn up the boost in the FD without buying aftermarket controllers or adding anything at all....is that stock or modified when it comes to racing?

Lastly, you can't turn up the boost and if you did somehow it would be MODIFYING the car. The FD would NOT be bone stock. All you have to do is put on a dp or crush pipe and you are running 12 second slips. The car is MODIFIED. The FD was a 13 second car stock.

Pretty much everyone's experience running nat aspirated vs. nat aspirated when it comes to the musclecars...power adders are the only viable answer to displacement unless you can rev way the hell out there...regarding my lil' fren'...
