'86 N/A vs. '9somethin Integra

This was back on the 3rd day that I had my car, in April of '05. It had alot of minor things wrong with it that I was not aware of, but I was so pumped about finally owning a 7, I was just driving around all day. Came up on an '90's Yellow Integra with unpainted body kit an muffler.
I just tailed him a bit and he looked in the mirror and immediately turned into the right lane, I got up to him and smiled, so did he, and we drove a ways, just givin a little gas and letting go.
I had the sunroof open so I put my hand out and pointed to take the next left, and he followed me through a pretty sweet out of town section of curves and elevation that goes for about 3 miles.
The best and final section leads into a straight, flat county road where you can hit top speed in an N/A unmodified easily. I was pretty impressed at how well he was going through the corners, I took him out this way because I wanted to show him how to take a corner, (i still had only 2 days under my belt with this car).
After we hit the last section, it was WOT for the both of us, up to about 120mph. I tapped my brake lights a few times and pulled over to talk with him. Turns out he's from out of town thinking about going to college here, and he didn't know that roads were that cool out here.
He was a very friendly guy of Asian descent, he said he only had a different tranny in his car, but I saw his muffler and I didn't want to argue. He told me he was lost now and I needed to lead him back into town, but first he wanted a standing start.
I have never done a "drag race" against anyone. I still get a wierd stomach feeling when a ricer revvs up on me. So we lined up, and he told me, "Now you can feel the Import Power!", (odd remark, as I also drive an import).
I didn't hear what he said next, so I yelled, "What?"
Then I heard him yell, "...Three!", and his front tires lit up, so I bogged my 7 at around 2k rpm. Immediately he had a car length on me. But i ripped the **** out of my allready bad 2nd gear synchro, and by the end of 3rd, we were about nose to nose, he was ahead though, then he let off, and he got behind me and followed me back through the turns to get back to town.
Long story, nothing really happened. Just thought I'd share it.

Did he think leaving the body kit unpainted was a good way to save weight?
