20B Fc vs CBR600RR ???

what do you guys think?

My buddy has a lightly modded CBR600RR, and he is dead set to race me in the 20B TII when i get it done.... I'm thinking it will end up being at a 1/4 mile track.
I will have slicks, and when i tune the car, I will run whatever boost I need to hit 500HP.

I personally have a YZF750R, and although its stock, and I rarely ever ride it hard, it seems to be about on par with how my 7 ran on the 13B, so i dont think I should have any trouble beating him, but he's been talking so much **** that i'm almost starting to believe him.

Anyway, I have most of next week off work, so the car may be done by next weekend, then we will see. You guys think i should try for a 600 hp tune for this race?

pat

nah, I watched a video on street fire (i think so, but one of those streaming sites) that had a porsche 911 turbo and a some kind of 1100cc bike on a track and the car ending up winning.......by a nose......but nonetheless.

Its all gonna come down to the driving, if you can hook it up and keep it straight it should be a good race.....being heavier (although it may seem a disadvantage) you'll be able to plant more power than he will before he wheelies.

Let me know how it goes.

hmmm...if i up the boost to make 600 hp he and i will have exactly the same hp-weight ratio, so he shouldnt have a chance. i hate to do that much boost without a couple thousand miles on the tune tho.

I`ll raced a harley night train some weeks ago, with around 300 hp on my wheels.
He was faster than me in my first gear, the second we where even, but in the third I killed him, so I think you shoud have a chance to take him with 600hp 1/4 mile becouse of the power.

1/8 mile the bike will win unless you have awesome traction, weight shaving, and launch the hell out of your car. 1/4 mile track you should win easily.

Should not be a problem, most 600cc's are running 12's and thats with a good driver and mods. You should be more concerned about breaking something out of the hole with a 3 rotor. If you can get over that hurdle and have a decent launch you should anihilate him!

You shoudn't have a problem. I used to have an '04 CBR600, and I hang out with a few friend that ride. IN my ~300WHP FD I can take the 600 and older 750 bikes from a 60mph roll. From a stop , on street tires, its a different story though. Most these bikes are running mid-high 11s trapping ~116-120mph.

Stock r6.... 9's, not going to happen. An R1, maybe. Busa, yes. But a slightly modded modern 600cc bike will have the accelleration of a 500 hp RX-7. Alot will depend on the launch if the race is from a dig.

Well the 600RR will run mid 10s if the rider is good. My sport-touring yamaha Fz6 will run mid 11s at the track in baytown and it only has 98hp. My 99 cbr 900RR runs in the 9s if I can keep the front end down. All these are at stock height with my suspension setup for twisties and not drag racing. But yeah dont race a bike in the 1/8 or in a rat race you will loose horribly that is if the guy can actually ride his bike. I know most cars are a joke to race to most bikers but there are a few cars that can lay some smack down and with 500hp you might could do it or atleast scare the **** outta him on a freeway rollon. Oh the 600RR tops out at around 160-170mph depending on the rider and weather conditions.

You can ride better than the pro's right? Doubt it.

Or do you have the flux capacitor set to maximum warp drive?

Yeah it can be scary you really have to learn how to ease out the clutch and keep your weight forward but I have pointed the front end to the sky many of times and it just about makes me **** my pants. I find it even more scary when it spins the tire and kicks out to the side almost ran over my foot one time

I have riden the bike in question, 0-60 you will loose, but the bike has no torque so top end you will catch him. I went from a 130hp buell lightning to a 600rr, seemed like I was in slow motion on the 600.

im not so sure about this guys riding ability... On my 600GSXR I was running low 11's totally stock(yeah, im not a professional rider and i cant do the mid 10's the bike is tested at). But these guys are right, the 600cc bikes lack in the torque department... Now my RC51 is another story in the torque department. mmmmm...1000cc vtwin......

One trick is to throw your weight down on the front end as you let the clutch, can mess with your 'traction' but time it right and it counteracts the wheelie ..
