WTF, Cobra seat and bride rail install problems

i finally got around to trying to install my cobra seat with the fd specific bride rails. the sidemounts are also from bride. after fooling with it for hours finally got it to bolt in and in the car. the SEATS are way too ******* tall. I am only 5"6 and with the helmet on i have about an inch of clearence between the helmet and roof. I will be fucked if i roll.

does anybody that was on the group buy install these yet? the bride rails seems so much taller than the stock rails. i am now thinking of doing some custom **** to the stockies to make this god damn seat fit. i m just venting. yeah it looks cool and i fit in it but what the ****..

what did you guys with after market seats use to bolt your seats in? anyhelp is appreciated b/c i am about to burn the mother*#$% fudgers. thanks kevin

I purchased rails from MemoryFab:

http://www.memoryfab.com/products/detail_accessories_3/

I did a test fit with my Momo Starter 2007 seat and it felt like I was sitting on the floor. The rails are definitely low. I don't have the seat mounted as the side mounting holes that Momo provided don't match up to the brackets. I knew this was a possibility when I purchased the rails. So, I'm deciding if I make new mounting holes (possibly not as safe as where Momo decided to put them) or make new brackets.

I mod'd the stock frame by bolting on "outriggers" to pick up the Cobra side mounts. Top of side mount flange in level with top of OEM slider. It has been a number of years so I forget the details but I needed to partialy disameble OEM slider to drill holes and cut off a weldon??? Was an afternoon project. using aluminium angle stock that I had laying around.

Seat is very rigid and has held up to a number of track days, would not be FIA approved but then sliders arn't either.

I'm using the Memory Fab S58 carbon fiber seats aswell as their low mount sliders and they fit perfect.
You do sit pretty low in the car, I'm 5'7" and with my helmet on I even clear the autopower rollcage .

I just ordered some Mazdaspeed FD seat rails (if they ever come in), supposable a ½” drop from OEM position. i'll see what the cat brings home, I may get something useful or thrown away some more money.

i ran into the same issues with bride rails in my old FC a few years back. This was using a pro2000 with FG rails. I ended up having to cut the rails completely apart and remove all the extra metal and then weld them back together. i'm only 5'10 and my head was literally in the roof.
