Went road racing for the first time @ Summit Point

Hey guys.....Im kind of a virgin in this section, lol. Went to my first road course today at Summit Point for FATT. I had the best time in my car EVER. Never thought I'd say this, but drag racing doesn't hold a candle to the excitment, driver feedback, and nonstop action. Have to thank Ray Wilson of PFSupercars for getting my car ready in time. I swapped in my HKS hipermax coilovers, hawk blues, and a set of Nitto NT-01's.
The first two sessions I ***** footed around the course. Remember I've never turned my car before, lol. By the third session I was passing people and having a great time chasing down a 911 and a Z06. Both of whom saw my taillights by the end of the session, lol....
Here are some pics...

A friend of mine has a bunch of video of it. He's going to send it to me in the next day or two and I'll post it up.

Those pictures are sweet man. The chute added character I see. Are you switching over to road racing or HPDEs for good?

This car belongs to the road course. Props for taking such a nice car on the track, most people just fix it up and show off on the street.

Glad to see a former drag racer switch over. Interesting opinion towards the two forms of racing.

Great pictures Ernie!! You going to run little Talledega on Friday and Drag Race on Saturday at the speed for sale event in October now?

I never was a big drag racer, but that was always the goal... trying to get a faster time on the 1/8th or 1/4. I went to my first AutoX and was hooked... and the track only amplifies the feeling. I'm finally at a point in my life where I can afford track days on a regular basis... too bad I'm rarely around to actually do a track day. haha.

Nothing like finding the limits of your car (and you) corner after corner after corner... Welcome to the fun (and highly addictive) stuff!

Hang on there guys, lol.... I still love drag racing and will continue to drag race. Who says ya can't do both? Only thing I have to do is change out my rear shocks and wheels. I can have a multipurpose RX7. Its not like its a Supra where it can ONLY go in a straight line. lol....

It didn't feel lazy at 12psi??(though I'm sure it was still making good power) Just curious as that is a pretty low amount for the turbo, how did it feel overall running that mani/turbo on a road coarse? Very interested for a few reasons.

At least with road racing you have to keep your mind on what you are doing for more than 10 seconds !!

Have fun with it !!
