welded 4.88 rear end to non-welded

I've got a welded 4.88 rear end that came with my race car in pieces. I'm curious as to whether or not I can just take the LSD part out of any other gear set and put it in the 4.88 and have a 4.88 LSD? Cause the welded spider gears are never going to be non-welded, and I don't want to have to buy a whole new 4.88 setup.

Sure, unbolt the welded carrier and drop in the LSD. Of course youll have to re-set up the pinion drag, preload, gear mesh and all. If you cant, just let a good shop with the tools do the set up.
