Heck why not try and return em both lol. They, or rather we ( I work for auto zone ) stock a holley blue so I can get it for about $80 with my discount. I think its about that time.
#300 (aka 3.0) is not the largest available. There is a 3.2 Grosse Jet, which uses a check ball. These flow better and do not stick like the needles sometimes do. Call Rob Golden at Pineapple Racing (503-233-3878). He at least knows where to get them...I recall him buying a few a couple years ago because I borrowed one from him for my PP13B with Weber 51IDA.

Blake? As in Blake Qualey? Sorry if im spelling your name wrong. I was at one of Rob's seminars when I lived in Eugene. I met you once... It was a long time ago though. Im sure I couldnt pick you out in a crowded room. I'll call Rob tomorrow.

Heres an update. The carb is off my car and back on Toms repu where it came from. And now it is doing the same thing on his truck that it did on my car. It didnt do that before. So I think the needle is actually needing to be replaced or the carb itself has a blockage in the passage between the banjo fitting (fuel fitting) and the needle. Again, the screen is clear.

Now I see theres a carb thats identical to the one that was on my car for sale but it was used on a blow thru setup. I loved the way that weber dco worked on my car. I just need to know what jets to buy. there are several different main jets, air correction jets and idle jets on ebay.

Yes, that's me. Very close on the spelling, too. Good luck with the carb problem.

It looks now like there was a blockage between either the fuel inlet and the screen or between the screen and the needle/ seat. The carb is back on the truck that i borrowed ot from and it is acting like it did on my car so I think some junk got in there on the way to my house from his while it was rolling around in the back of my car

A weber can hold it's float level correctly for years if it is on an engine and the float is floating in gasoline. This cushions the float from damage.

Take a weber off an engine, drain the float bowl, and ship the carb somewhere, and damn if the float level does not get royally screwed up.

This has happened more than once to me.

You have to modify the fuel inlets, meaning you have to enlarge them. With that set up, fuel will need to fill up in that filter section prior to actually flowing to needle/seat. I never use the screen but be sure to use an in-line filter before and after the fuel pump.

this is what im referring to:

I worked on a massarati biturbo, and fuel loss at carb was due to added on inline filter, similar to yours. try w/o filter.

I did install and tune trip 40dcoe's an 2L I6, nice stuff.
