Damn, Paul, what event?

Damn - was this a HOD event? I have a poster of those two C2 Class winners in my office - its official Mazda swag from Laguna Seca a couple of years ago.

I just may have to start going to HOD events if that's what this was....I know you wanted to ride in the Beast anyway. I'll be at Thill April 25 and 26 in HPDE 2 - hope to test out into group 3 by the end of the weekend......

BTW - know anyone good in NorCal who can cage my care to Super Unlimited specs?

You never know what cool car you'll see at a HOD event. All flavors of Ferraris and Porsches including the Carrera GT, Maserati MC12, Historic NASCAR, ect. ect.

You must have noticed the carefully inserted "product placement" in the clip.

Very cool cars, they made my ears bleed as they passed by the K wall screeming at 10K. The new owners are two cool guys that had just bought the cars as play toys, but they had to sell there NASCAR cup cars to buy them. We are in a recession after all.

I'll get some local cage guys names for you.

I'll try to make it out to meet you on the 26th, I'll be teaching some journalists to drive around Laguna that week but I should be back by Sunday.

Paul

Those are in private hands?

I thought both those two Lola T616s were in Mazda's collection - they are privately owned? If so....lucky bastards. #68 is the one to own - that was the C2 class winner in 1984.

Nothing like a custom 4 rotor peripheral port at 10k on the ears....mechanical music......600 naturally aspirated horsepower.....

Appreciate any help you can provide on references for good roll cage fabricators. As we are improving the tune on the car it keeps getting faster and faster - even running pig rich I was approaching 140 mph on the end of the front straight, and I think I'll be able to get to 150 once I get rid of the rich stumble coming out of the final turn .... get some better aero on the car (proper wing on the back and canards on the front)...lighten it by getting rid of the interior that is still in it (it still has the full interior). Really need a cage at those speeds.
