Perhaps you should close off the intake at the front of the hood. Because if anything the vents at the rear should be helping evacuating the air under the hood therefor increasing the airflow thru the rad. But if that intake at the front is shoveling air into the bay right at the rear of the radiator then you have two seperate airflows running into each other and neither have a clean path of exit. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Your right. It dose create an issue thats why I blocked it off temporarily untill I get this heat thing sorted. Im going to use the front hole as a ram intake for the turbo.

Also I think I may have discoverd why the Rad is not getting air. My IC sits to far forwards. Every Jap FD on a track with an FMIC has it set deep back inside the bumper. Today at my mechanics place we blew air with a compressor through an IC the same as mine on another FD. We found that we could feel the air spilling over the sides of the pumper. Some goes through & the rest gets pushed to the side.

Now I know the reason for mounting the IC so far back with ducting to create a high pressure area where the air cannot come back & spill over the sides of the bumper. Instead it all gets channeled through the IC by having more of a deep ducted intake that collects air under pressure forcing it all through the IC & the rad.

So we are going to flip my IC upside down, mod the endtanks a little & make some piping going straight to turbo & Plenum. Mount it in the engine bay right in front of the Rad with seald off ends top & bottom & duct it all from the front bumper back, creating a deep channel of forced air @ high track speeds.

If you aren't careful of how close you mount them, the IC will get heatsoak from the radiator or vise versa under stationary conditions. Are you running an aftermarket efan? Post us some pics when you get it finished.

Edit. I read what you said earlier about the scoop in the underpanel. There used to be a guy with a widebody red FB and the had a scoop under the car to get air to either the radiator or the oil cooler I can't remember which one. I'll do some searching.

Im not to concerned with heat soak. My water injection sorts out the air temp very quickly. I will post some pics when its all done. A before & after. Yes I use 2 huge aftermarket electric fans.

I dont plan to sit them to close together. When the car is in traffic in its currant state, the air temp goes up to about 35c on a summer day. All it takes is a burst of 2nd & 3rd to drop that temp to 20c, after wich im out of traffic and it then goes back to around 25c when just cruising. Plus those vents in the hood let out a hell of alot of heat.

That scoop idea dose sound realy good. I hope you find the thread.

Thanks buddy. Iv been looking at RE-Amemiya's undertrays & they look like they have scoops in them. Its not easy to tell if they realy do as the pics on their webpage arent all that good.
