Tire Profiles

Hello, I'm getting some larger tires for my 3rd gen, but I don't want to mess up the handling...

I will be putting larger ones on the rear to help hold down the rear end (~400 rwhp). I was thinking about 40 profile on the rear, but on the front, I can't decide between some 45s or 40s. Can you mix the profiles front/rear and still have killer handling or is it better to keep them the same?

Brian

Rear: 265/40 17
Front: 245/40 17 or 235/45 17

Re: Tire Profiles

265/40-17 will be fine in the back...

SleepR1, After reading some of your other posts, I might go with 255/40 17 on 9 inch SSR GT-1 +45 mm. Would that be a good pick? I don't want any chance of the tires rubbing...

Even Better

Rishie's got a deal on Enkei NT03for $700 for the set in 9 x 17, 43-mm offset...https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...490#post856490

Probably could run 255/40-17 still

You may have trouble putting a 40 or 45 up front. It may rub. I have a 35 up front and a 40 in the rear.
