Timing System
Does anyone know what the larger organisers are using for timing the autocross races in the states.
Our timing system is getting flaky and is sort of dated, I was just wondering what would be good to use. something that would record the times for mirror courses and give results printed by best time in class.
Any information would be much helpful.

Keep Right Except to Pass
I don't know how large they were, but I found an SCCA group in Texas using the RaceAmerica system.
Or how about AMB?
Only ones I could find in the short time I searched.

trying to build a racecar
A member of our club has developed his own timing software and we've been using different versions of it for a couple years now. It is very user friendly and reliable. I'm pretty sure it can be configured to run a number of different style events, and can handle multiple cars on course at a time.

We are also going to be beta testing a new option for AXware this weekend. Barcode scanning. Each driver is issued a barcode sticker. When he/she pulls into staging, the starter will scan the code and the person's info (name/class/number) goes into the computer. It should make it a lot easier on the timing and scoring people.
I'll report back next week to let you know how it goes.
