I'm no drifter, but I admit the right course was a bit slippery all weekend.

225/45-16 Hankook Z212 R-S2 street tires, the maximum allowable size in the class, on a 16x7.5" Kosei K1 +43mm wheel, the maximum allowable width in class. Full tread. I would love to try them shaved, waiting of the contingency $$ to come on back....

Looks like Andy McKee in his RX-7 won also at the Pro in SM2. They still have not finished all of the results online though.

I am debating right now whether or not to run the ProSolo at Walnut Ridge (AR)...its over 1770 miles one way, and at a minimum I would need to take Friday and Monday off of work just for travel.....and with the GTUs running poorly, I am getting 14mpg at best on the highway. We installed the Split Second programmer but no time to tune, I may just lean it out on the highway and hope I gets there and back.

Thoughts? The ProSolo points have been released on scca.com and now that there are 8 drivers signed up for STS2, this may be a good time to go.

Opinions?

Get the car working. You don't want to be stranded 1/2 way there or 1/2 way back. There'll be more battles to be fought.

Besides...
20.12 SERIES POINTS
A. Series points for the ProSolo National Series Class Cup and Challenge Cup
competitions will be accumulated by ProSolo National Series Class and
Challenge finishing positioning; the best two out of the first three events
entered and the ProSolo Finale event.
You mentioned something about doing more than three... if you did that, the last one would just be a blocking type event and not count towards points. Skippin the AR Pro may not be a bad thing.

Yeah, and spending $500+ in fuel didn't make my wife jump up and down with joy, either.

This way I'll have a better shot at making the Houston Tour, then the Atwater Tour and Pro. The in-laws are in Austin, and my wife is dying to see them, so we are shooting for both Texas events as well...that's a far enough drive for me :-)

EDIT-- Andy is signed up for STS at WR, does that mean he is switching classes for the year or what? If I were him I would run in STS2 to get back in the points game....

He's going to be driving his Civic in STS. There's a thread on his car on the miata.net forum.

Go ahead and go James. It is fun to live vicariously through you.
I may only be able make 1 Pro and maybe 1 NT this year. I certainly will not be able to go to Nationals again this fall. So go get 'em.

Good luck, James. Kick some butt!

BTW, we still haven't found time to get those Cobras into the AE. The mounts from Wendell just arrived the other day. Thanks for your help!
