The intercooler threadt is something which is almost a daily item but most of the time the only question asked is wether to go FMIC or SMIC.
I've spend already many hours reading ans searching all over this site for threads, don't worry...

From a personal point of view (projekt thinking) the SMIC option is a no-go route.
I will build my own IC detup because I'm in Europe and taxes, import and other costs are just way to high.I can build my own for half of that.

Basically I'm not into the SMIC as I don't see the use of putting so much effort (welding, bending tubes etc) for soem thinking a bit bigger than the stock IC.

My major plusses ont he Vmount (my favorite) are:
1. keeping the stock radiator for now (would work as the rad will get more fresh air.

2.total concept of leading fresh air through either the rad or the IC and not first through the IC and then the rad or the other way. Another point is the possibilty of guiding the hot air though a vented hood or below the car.
Minor disadvantage could be the hot air goin gover the turbos. maybe a duct in the oilpan protection is a possiblity to lead air up over the turbos and also venting through the hood.µ

3. SMIC's are basically chosen for good air flow as far as I can understand and FMIC's for heat soak on daily drivers. V-mounts are (size wise) in between I guess and due to its concept they should provide the best of both IMHO.

Air flow is not my strongest point but glass fiber, carbon and kevlar on the other hand is. So Ithat's why I want to build my own kit. I can get IC cores in whatever size I want at a good prize, neighbour is a welder (SS, aluminium, steel)

This is my point of view but I wlould like some input from the people who have this setup, had different etc.

My car is regularly driven, sometimes at tracks and formost an advertisement article for my glassfiber work.

Future mods to go with the VMIC would be a custom CF air intake exhaust system (DP, Catback, sports cat) and adjustment equipment for fuel regulation, timing etc (Halltech/PFC)

Many thanks in advance...
Neal
