What makes my car a full drag car/racecar? It's licensed/insured and I drive around town all the time.
If it rolls and shows up, it's a street car. Track cars race on, guess what... the TRACK ONLY!
What it comes down to is if you see it driving on the street, then for the time being it IS a street car.
Don't use the ricer excuse of crying "racecar!"

PDViper- IRS works fine but is less adustable. RX-7.com and Adam Saruwatari ran 9's with it.....; however a solid axle would be better for a drag only setup. The key to fast 1/4 mile times is the 60'. Every tenth better in the first 60' is worth approx 1.5 tenths in the 1/4.
Remember the world's fastest IRS Dodge Viper went 8's with a 6 speed and twin turbo V-10 with 3600lbs+ on factory IRS...... 167mph! And some Supras have been high 8's on IRS.
To the original poster- do not mix radial and bias ply tires. You need to run bias ply up front or it will get squirrely at high speed. 16x4 FD spares or 16x4 FC spares will work with motorcycle bias ply tires that have a high weight rating mounted on them.
It is true that bias ply wander a little... but mixing bias/radial will create a very dangerous result: http://www.turbobuicks.com/forums/sh...ghlight=wander

Not sure what you meant by "Factory IRS"
Also, Saruwatari eventually swapped to a solid rear end

It runs a 2:73 ring gear, stock Dana 44 housing, Quaiffe LSD, and Dynatrax 300M axles. The Dana 44 has a factory 9.3" ring gear so it is a bit more stout than the RX-7 8" ring gear.
Show me a 3600lb+ car with a/c, booming stereo, 6 speed, and full interior with leather seats that runs 8's@165mph+ that doesn't break some parts and I'll walk on water.
When is your 600rwhp car going to run some 9's big dog? Your car still doesn't 60' for **** with that solid axle out back. You should be doing some easy 1.3's if not faster.

My car didn't 60 foot for ****. My suspension was ***. My front end sat 2 inches lower than the rear thus no weight transfer, my shocks were also blown so everytime I would launch it would bottom out. All of those issues were fixed this winter. 1.3XX short times won't be a problem this year. Plus, I'll be leaving with boost.
I'll probably run 12's

10.21 @ 137mph
Are you doing a decent burnout to heat up the slicks???
The only time my car wanders in the deep end is when the tyres aren't hot enough. I usually run 12 psi from cold (26 x 8.5 x 15) slicks and check them at the end of the run and they are at around 13 psi.
Im not sold on the no radials on the front thing either. I have run plenty of low 10's at over 135mph with normal radials on the front. The car goes dead straight.

Don't jack my thread!
The issue at hand is to find tires that hook without breaking all yer' ****!
I too have broken an axle.. Thinking about going 8.8. Don't road race. Straight line.
I just put some Nitto DR on there. It will get me my 120+MPH stickers, but I don't care about that ****. I want ET's!
I know my car is VERY capable of 11's....maybe even 10's. Just gotta figure the formula.
Maybe I will just backhalf it and be done with it.!
Yeah... you can tell by the video, I heated the **** out of them!
