shifter bushings switch

Does anyone have any experience replacing the shifter bushings in an fc. I bought all of the right stuff from Mike at ISC, and it looked pretty self explanitory, but my car's original bushings had completelly evaporated, so I'm a little lost now.

Im trying to do this without dropping the tranny. Is there supposed to be an identical set of bushings above and below the large ball on the shifter? If so how do I get the lower bushing in? Im having a hard time getting the lower bushing in inbetween the shifter ball and the spring, bacause there is a little guide bar in the way.

All of the manuals I have suck with this, and I have no reference, so any help would be appreciated.

Does this help?

You have to slide it in under the pin/guid bar.
